Great Sal Buscema artwork I think he is a very underrated artist and his run on Spectaculer is fantastic reading.

He loses the cape thingy very quickly.

I just saw this episode, and it rocked so much!!!! Ock was a badass in it. And his wonderful backstabbing nature reared it's head in this episode, too.

Wait til you guys see it. You'll love it. The fight sequence in this episode is the best one yet.

I miss the Buscema/De Matteis days so much.

Amen to that. The Sal Buscema/DeMatteis and Bagley/DeMatteis stories are still my all time favorite Spider-Man stories. I have a soft spot for Luke Ross/DeMatteis, too.

Guess who my favorite writer is. :o

I agree with everything you said there and Ock seeing what the real problem is as wll as him saying to the other crimelords how small minded they are and not seeing what the big picture is. Go Dock Ock!(fav villain of all time^^)

JMS? :oldrazz:

Yeah, he was on top form. I loved seeing him in the tux. He looked slick.

It's been a great season for Ock on this cartoon. Two of his classic storylines have been adapted, Master Planner and Gang War. Loved them both.

Now for season three (If we get one), I'd love to see the Nullifier arc get adapted.

So which Doc Ock episode from the Spectacular Spider-Man with Doc Ock is your favorite?

Reaction?
Group Therapy?
Shear Strength?
Gangland?

I think I choose Shear Strength, my favorite Spider-Man storyline ever was adapted, it wasn't quite the way I wanted it to be and it's so much weaker than the comic books, I expected it to be but not this weak. Still, a terrific episode and Doc Ock was awesome. Gangland will have to be my 2nd favorite and the 3rd will be Reaction and you know who number 4 is.

But I still want an episode with just Doc Ock and Spidey beating the crap out of each other causing mayhem in the streets of Manhattan. Now that will be badass to see!

Ooooh excellent question.

I love them all, but I'd have to choose Shear Strength. Not only is it a brilliant adaption of one of the greatest Spider-Man stories ever, but it shows just how intelligent, devious, cunning, and evil Ock can be. And we got the homage to Spidey buried under the rubble of Ock's lair. Classic.

Group Therapy would be my second favourite. Seeing Ock leading the Sinister Six was a such a joy. And the battles were amazing. My fav part was when Ock had Spidey dangling in his tentacles in front of Rhino.

Ock: "Rhino, you won the coin toss. Will you crush his skull, or simply impale his heart on your horn?"

Brilliant.

Gangland was superb as well. Ock was a demon in the fights. What he did to Silvermane after he was beaten by Spidey was pure evil. Such a bastard :woot: And the part when Tombstone subdues Ock from killing Spidey in front of the crowd of spectators:

Tombstone: "I'm sorry, Doctor. But L. Thompson Lincon cannot be seen to be collaborating with Super Villains and mobsters"
Doc Ock: "Then L. Thompson Lincon is WEAK!!!" *Ock tosses Tombstone away like a rag doll*

Ock was also in Reinforcement and Accomplices, but it was a laid back role in both of those. Scheming and planning.

They are all so amazing, but if i had ot choose only 1, I would choose Shear Strength.

This has to be my favorite line from the episode.

It's hard to decide...but I think Reaction is my favorite Ock episode. I just saw it again last night. Everything is great.

Actually, I never minded JMS much, except for when he tried to do big, event, ground breaking stories.

I have to wait til tomorrow to see Gangland. :csad: My computer here isnt letting me log on to youtube.

Hmm.

I will rank them, in my order:

1) Shear Strength. Such a great adaptation of a great storyline. And besides, with my username, how could it be otherwise? :oldrazz:
2) Reactions
3) Gangland
4) Group Therapy

Mine too. Any line where Ock is berating someone is classic.

Well, have you seen it yet? Goblin's episode, Subtext, is on YouTube, too.

I'm surprised you have Group Therapy on the bottom. It was fab seeing Ock lead the Six properly at last. Not like how they did it in the 90's cartoon, with Kingpin forming the Insidious Six. Bleh!

Nah, I was lazy today. I'll do it tomorrow.

Yeah, the Insidious Six was a disappointment.

Hahaha, what else is new? :oldrazz: You should really enjoy them both. And I hear Gobby's latest episode today, Opening Night, was awesomeness, too.

holy **** this thread has been open since 09-30-2005 alot of :otto: fans i see :D

Hahaha, yeah we're a very active bunch alright. It's funny but I made a similar fan thread for the Joker in the Bat forums a couple of years ago. It never took off nearly as successfully as this one.

It lasted a few months, but slowly fizzled away despite several attempts I made to revive it. And the Joker certainly has no shortage of fans.

I don't know, I think the Spidey fans are alot more sociable than the Bat fans. Than most fans actually.

Indeed, he is a solid form of coolness.

A high compliment coming from Dr Doom :cwink:

I propose a battle of the PhDs. Who wins in a battle? Doctor Doom or Doctor Octopus. To the Winner Goes...The World!

I also wanted to spread this pic around.

Venom is shy. :o
