I'd have to say I'm a Carolyn then.

While at times I'm a bit of a dreamer like Angela, I don't think I could ever ignore what type of person Ock really is.

I do however admire his genius intellect and yes, even his "bastardliness" but only at a safe and very far distance (and who wouldn't want to take those tentacles for a spin!?). :woot:

Thing is, an Angelina like me is well aware what kind of person Otto can be, but they tend to romanticize him a bit and view him as more of an antihero or an iconoclast--as one writer put it, "not a bad guy--a good guy with a different point of view." :woot: Silver S, an Ottophile who used to post here, was also an Angelina-type.

Sweet, Jesus!

You managed to make me feel dirty and amused at the same time. You madame, are a wizard. :oldrazz:

Why thank you. That was my intention. :o And if that picture makes you feel dirty, you might have some Angelina-style traits, because Carolyns are just platonic ;)

I've been collecting Doc Ock fanart on deviantART; it's quite gratifying to see how often Otto's likeness pops up! Feel free to browse to get your appetite partially sated: http://octohaz.deviantart.com/favourites/#Doc-Ock

(I say partially because there's always room for one more Ockpic! AMIRITE? :D )

Well, posting your dA pics here is very easy.

1: Go to the deviation pic you wish to post. Click on it to load the fullview size.
2: Right click on picture, select "Properties."
3: A dialog box will pop up with technical information about your drawing. Among this information will be something called "Address," followed by a url to the download browser of that drawing. Highlight it all and hit Ctrl+C to copy it.
4: Open the Doc Ock's Lair, hit "Post Reply," hit the "Insert Image" button. A small window will open saying "Insert the url of your image." Hit Ctrl+V to insert the address from that Properties dialog box. Click OK.
5: Your picture should now show up in your reply! Click "Submit Reply" and voila! :otto:

WOW! There are some gorgeous pics there. Is it wrong to post some of the pics here without the artist's permission?

Haz, you need to post here more often, girl. We miss you.

LOL! You've got Venom's death from Spider-Man 3 in there. You evil girl ;)

Hahahaha, that'rs cool

I like your deviantart avatar, too. First time we saw Otto don the tentacles in the cartoon.

Webhead9707 posted a link to an awesome site where you can design your own characters and watch them dance. Guess who I made!? :oldrazz:

Boo-yah.

Yes, you did in fact just get served by Doc Ock... :hehe:

Why thank you. That was my intention. :o And if that picture makes you feel dirty, you might have some Angelina-style traits, because Carolyns are just platonic ;)

Guess I'm a unhealthy mixture of both. :woot:

And wow....that's a lot of art you guys. Gonna' have to set aside some free time to browse through it all......

Hmm, if you give proper credit and don't try to claim it as your own, I don't see the problem. People here post other people's art all the time :woot:

Seconded! :cwink:

That I am! Though I have to organize it all into subfolders sometime, because anyone who clicks that link looking for the finest Otto fanart (not drawn by Yours Truly) will be obliged to wade through some Light Yagami fanart as well :o

Funniest thing I've seen in ages! I'll have to do one for The Joker.

*Mr Burns voice* Excellent!

I'll have a root thru them tomorrow and pick out a few goodies. I recognize alot of Silver Sehkmets art in your favourites, MP. She used to be a regular poster here once upon a time...

If you do, please share. :woot:

Master Planner, OctoHaz & Duskbyday...you guys have all just earned yourselves a new die-hard fan. Killer stuff!!

Without artist permission, I'd probably post the dA link, like this: http://masteronin.deviantart.com/art/Otto-Octavius-114052313
rather than the image itself. This way people are directed to the artist's gallery, wherein often other neat stuff is to be found. :)

Haz, you need to post here more often, girl. We miss you.
Awww. Rest assured, I'm here every day. I just haven't been drawing a lot lately. And I'm several episodes behind on SSM! :O Bad me.

LOL! :woot:

My dear, you don't have to be giving us your artwork every time you post. We're not that greedy :oldrazz: :cwink: Just join in the conversation and banter when ever you like.

For example, would you care to list your top 5 Ock comic stories?

And I'm several episodes behind on SSM! :O Bad me.

:wow:

I thought it was strange that you didn't post a review about the awesome Gangland episode yet.

Figured I should contribute something as well and picked a random picture from my sketchbook...

msfeatherdroctopuswosco.jpg

Conceptual art for how Doctor Octopus would have appeared in Web of Shadows...

The only thing of importance to note is that the tentacles here are completely symbiotic/organic as he was supposedly infected while separated from his arms. That was the idea I based my design around anyway.

Oh my god, that's freaky!! In a good way, of course. Here's another Doc Ock/symbiote hybrid pic:

Also, ever since we saw this picture, an Ottophilic friend and I have racked our brains out to answer the all-important question: Would even Otto himself eat this?!

:otto:

He would have to push for it, and take it easy on the cookies for a while, but I think he could do it. With milk of course.

Something for the Lair.

Gracias mate. It looks cool

I'm not a fan of Ock with s symbiote. Only cause I played Spider-Man for the N64 when I was young and Monster-Ock both scared me and creeped me out. But I like this though.

Wow, you were scared by a video game character? I guess that's why they put age restrictions on some games.

Also, ever since we saw this picture, an Ottophilic friend and I have racked our brains out to answer the all-important question: Would even Otto himself eat this?!

In all the years we've seen the Octopus, I don't ever recall seeing him eat anything. I've seen him smoke an occasional cigar or cigarette, even have an alcoholic drink or two.

But I've never seen him eat. So I'm going to say no. Food doesn't seem to be something he indulges himself in.

I wasn't scared of the game, it just kinda freaked me out. It also dind't help that when I first got to him, I had watched Urban Legend. Bad idea.

The run from Doc Ock was a rush and was scary for me until I got away, even more to add the comic book near the end. One of the best experiences of playing a video game, even to this day.
