World Doc Ock's lair

Thanks, Joker. :)

Yeah, that was a really great moment in Negative Exposure, that and Otto slamming Spidey around snarling at him to be quiet. Heheheh.

Also loved this bit in that mini:

LOL! Chick fights don't seem to be doing it for the ladies. Lets get the lair back on track a bit more. Here's one of my favourite scenes from the Doc Ock mini, Negative Exposure:

Wonder why he didn't shoot him...

What was your reaction when you saw this pic:

I remember I was 10 years old, the first Spider-Man movie was my favorite movie at that time. Ahh I remember watching that movie like everyday and loved every minute of it. It was the movie that made me into the big Spider-Man fan I am today. Man, I gotta watch that film again sometimes. I remember when I got a DVD player for christmas and a couple of DVDs but I never expected to get Spider-Man for DVD. I was 9 years old and I was like the happiest kid in the world when I got Spider-Man on DVD.
Well anyway, I heard there was going to be a Spider-Man 2 which made so happy because I really needed a sequel for the first Spider-Man film and I hoped Doc Ock was the villain because I felt he should have been in the first film which is actually damn right IMO. So one day I went on the Internet which I rarely did as a 10 year old, I remember going to Sony's official Spider-Man movie site for no reason and what do I see? A guy with 4 scary metal arms that looked insanely cool and with the glasses and what does it say? Spider-Man 2. I remember going wild when I saw that picture and that there was going to be a sequel for my favorite movie. I'll tell you, it was really cool. Can't belive it's been 7 years already. Wow. I miss those days.

Loved that panel. Ock had a great Hannibal Lecter vibe going there. Sinister Doctors behind a glass panel and all that :cwink:

Wonder why he didn't shoot him...

Ock stalled him long enough for his tentacles to arrive. Then when he heard them I bet he s*** himself in fear :hehe:

My jaw hit the floor in amazement when I first saw that. I was also very, very relieved to see they gave Ock a cool costume. Green Goblin in Spider-Man 1 looked silly, IMO. Dafoe's great acting saved the character.

So I was very worried that Ock would get a cornball looking costume, too. The tentacles were my favourite part, though. Hands down the most awesome and lethal looking set of tentacles Ock has ever had. They really put love and care into designing them.

*Sigh* I miss those days, too. Raimi was on top of his game when he made Spider-Man 2. You could tell he put his heart into it. That poster there is ample proof. None of the other villains got a poster as half as cool as that.

That had to be one of my favorite scenes in that arc. But I love the other scenes where Otto deftly manipulates Haight--and then calls his work "pretentious garbage" to the prison librarian Vernon, more. We get so many knock-down drag out fights between Octopus and Spidey that seeing him reminding us all why he's the one and only Master Planner is a unique pleasure.

Octavius: I must say, I haven't seen such a highly refined sense of design from a photographer since the passing of the late Edward Steichen.
Haight:  Really? Steichen is my God.

It's funny how the least popular villain used, Sandman, is the only one that lived.

I think Sam is much more comfortable with villains that dont wear masks. As we can see from the first Goblin, its not an easy thing to make look good. Consider all of the villains he has put in the movies after Gobby: Ock, Sandman, Vulture and I think there was discussion of Kingpin for a brief while. No masks on any of them. Plus we all know how Sam likes to have Spidey unmask.

Why did they kill him in spidey 2, why??????:csad:
Someone said that they probably just kept him alive, but he stayed underground in the water. I smacked him and told him to stop saying stupid stuff. Ocks amazing, but I don't think even he would survive a machine of his own genius.

I remember being impressed and looked forward to the future of the franchise.

Since I wasn't big into comics then, nor into Doc Ock, that poster didn't do anything for me when I saw it. I enjoyed Spiderman, liked other superhero movies, and hubby and I were both impressed by Spiderman 2. I had a brief fan moment after the movie -- nothing that I remember especially, but enough that I drew a picture of a rabbit with doc ock tentacles, coat, and goggles. And hubby bought the Spider-Man Masterworks that had Ock's story and the first Sinister Six story.

But then it went away, 'til we both got back into comics just before Civil War. And I started RPing Ock on MarvelMUCK.

LOL! I remember I used to be highly amused when Haz would say "I've been on the muck" :hehe:

Bit of cool news from the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon front. Greg Weissman, the guy who created the show, has a website where you can ask him questions. I asked him if he had any specific Doc Ock stories from the comics in mind for the future seasons on the show. His response was short and sweet: "I have MANY stories in mind". And yes, the word many was in captials.

Yay! Lots more Octopus for the future seasons, assuming we get some, of course.

Very true.

Notice how Harry's Goblin practically never wore that green paint baller's mask [Thank God!].

You don't remember that? You used to tell us about your RP'ing there. You used to say "I've been busy on the muck lately" and stuff like that. Sounded so funny.

Love this easter egg on the Spider-Man 2 DVD!

LOL! Yeah, its terrific.

I remember hearing about this before the movie came out. Sam Raimi said in an interview that Alfred Molina had them all laughing when he practiced his Fiddler on the Roof routine while still in Doc Ock costume.

I'm so glad it went on the DVD as an easter egg. There's also a hilarious one of Willem Dafoe trying on the tentacles and goggles and doing some of the diaglogue in the demonstration scene.

It was surreal to see Norman and Otto together shaking hands lol.

Just got back from watching Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. They're both great movies with terrific villains! Now I can't decide which movie is better. They're both great but they both have a couple of flaws some of those are really annoying but I love the films. And I tried to watch Spider-Man 3 but turned it off after 10 minutes. Ugh, I can't stand that film. Let's hope Spider-Man 4 is as great as SM and SM2!

But I think the reason Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are so great is because they have the best Spider-Man villains. Go Gobby and Ock! :gg::bomb::otto:

Spidey 3 had good villains, but they weren't used well. Just like the plot. Spidey 1 and 2 were used well. Also, Spidey 3 was a third installment. Unfortunately most 3rd installments of movies blow.

Sandman is a great villain though not one of Spidey's best. Harry was great as the Goblin in the comics and Venom is an ok villain though he is mostly just rubbish. Harry was the only villain used well(when he was a villain, not when he had amensia or became a good guy) but had a horrible, horrible costume. Sandman, I don't know if I should count him as being a villain in that film? Venom? Well, I didin't hate Venom in SM3 but I admit that he looked awesome in the film. Wished we saw more of him but I don't freaking care if he doesn't say "we" and "us" and drooling with that tougne I simply don't give a crap about that. Though casting Topher Grace was completly... Stupid I guess.

Still, the film is pretty rubbish. Not the worst superheromovie ever made far from it but the movie is pretty boring and extremely annoying sometimes.

This is a video I made with Doc Ock with Spectacular Spider-Man clips:
