You've been busy, SpideyTheBest. First the Goblin movie theme tribute and now this? Dont ever leave us. :cwink:

Just read the preview and I'm again feeling verrrry nervous and wary. I mean, this could be done well, but if done poorly, I'm going to be very unhappy. Especially since I've been enjoying the current arc, "American Son."

My fingers are crossed.

(I do like the art, but I'm rather a fan of Romita Junior, so.)

That's the way, Haz. Retain that optimism, no matter how nervous you are!

Obviously Ock is going to find a way to cure himself of his plight. I think his cure is also going to make him no longer vunerable to superhuman blows. Combine that with him upgrading to six tentacles, and this new and improved Doc Ock could be a really major power house.

Spider-Man better get the living s*** beaten out of him by an amped up, totally insane Doc Ock in #600.

Of course he will. Anything else would be unsatifactory, would it not?

Yes, but Marvel don't always deliver satisfactory results. Especially when it comes to Spider-Man.

Hmm, good point. I guess all we can do is wait. Wait and pray. Or riot if they fail, I always wanted to be part of a mob.

I'm still very optimistic based on all of Slott's interviews about what they're doing with Doc Ock in this story.

And the preview looked great. I love Romita Jr's artwork.

And while we wait, check out this cool Ock art I found on dA: http://gangsterart.deviantart.com/art/spiderman-Doctor-Octopus-127659659

That is amazing

Oh btw, this will be on sale as a poster next week:

I know I'll be getting one.

I'm just gonna say it, Doc Ock is awesome! Perhaps the most badass villain there is! And he is the most famous Spider-Man villain too. Alot of people, even if they don't know a tiny bit about Spider-Man, knows who Doc Ock is. What I also like about him is that he is a very original villain. A genius, badass and evil doctor with four metal arms=awesomeness! He is also very well-spoken and polite to the ladies. Especially to Aunt May. :woot:

Doc Ock rules! :otto:

I actually disagree with you there.

LOL!!! Love those pics, MP. Trust excercise with Doc Ock? :hehe:

Ah bless you, dude. Although I doubt Doc Ock is more iconic than Spidey. Villains are rarely more iconic than the heros.

We need a Doc Ock pic to compliment your post though. How about a Sinister Six one:

I think either I'm being silly or you misunderstood me. Most likely I'm being silly. :o

I didin't say that he was more iconic than Spider-Man, alot of people who maybe doesn't know much about Spider-Man(although they know that Spider-Man could climb on walls, shoot webs and such and that his name is Peter Parker) knows that he has a villain named Doctor Octopus. I didin't say all people but most of them. At least, that's how I feel. However I could be wrong though but I know alot of people that knows him even if they haven't watched Spider-Man 2. It's a little bit like the Joker, both my parents knows who he is! I think they both know who Doc Ock is. He is a very easy character to remember.

Ah well, as I said, I could be silly sometimes.

That makes more sense. Like with Batman anyone who knows the smallest bit of information knows the big four (Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler). The same goes for Spider-Man with Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom...

John Romita Jr let slip a few little details about Doc Ock in the upcoming issue #600:

The artist enthused that getting the chance to play with a slightly tweaked version of long-standing villain Doctor Octopus also provided a challenge. "I was given the instructions to go creepier. It's not a permanent version of Doc Ock. It's a present version, but I don't have a problem with it because it's a good story idea. It's interesting.

Well, Ock's new look is going to be creepier, but it's not going to be permanent. No doubt he finds a cure for his radiation poisoning.

I find it funny, anyone would think that Spidey WOULDN'T get his ass kicked, its a Peter Parker trademark, that he always gets his butt whooped at least during the first go around..

Did anyone catch the Doc Ock cameo in #597? Short, but still awesome. I might try and put up a scan later. Joker, I assume you will be picking up #600... Will this be your first issue since OMD? I've picked up a handful and they have surprised me. I think American Son is one of the best Spidey stories I've read in years, but I hope Doc Ock's return can trump it.
