It's an animal version of Spidey.I remembered there was a Mary Jane Warhog, Croc Strange, Raven The Hunter, Black Catfish, J. Jonah Jackal, and Captain Americat

Thanks....for all of them :)

So many Carnage-avy related posts in a row.... I'm spazzing here. Not that it's a bad thing.

Sandman was NOT credible as a leader of the Six. The mere idea of him thinking he could pull anything over on someone like Ock is just ridiculous. It's like a one-celled organism plotting to outwit and then kill Einstein. Yeah, that could happen....

LOL! Wonderful analogy there :D Can you just imagine the 'great' lines Sand brain will have in SM-3.

"You'll learn why I am called the Sandman"

*Makes big sand clobberin' fist*

"Because I'm made of sand!!!!"

Yawn.Someone whip out the vacuum cleaner and get rid of this fool.

This landmark book was a 92 page treasury sized graphic novel which featured the 1st ever collaboration between Marvel and DC as Superman and Spider-Man team up against Dr Octopus and Lex Luthor and yes Supes and Spidey do have an actual fight!

By Gerry Conway and Ross Andru.

I'm currently bidding for this on ebay.Doc Ock and Lex Luthor joining forces against Spidey and Supes. This I gotta see.

Btw tom, your dad needs to let loose on the purse strings.$20 is a bargain.I like your new avvy btw.About time you got yourself one ;)

I actually bought this treasure when I was a kid...maybe 10 or 11 years old....must have read it a freaking thousand times...
pretty cool concept with Ock and Luthor arguing on which super hero was the bigger pain in the ass and switching arch enemies.

The only problem I had with it is in my opinion it made (I'll spoil this in case you haven't already read it
Spiderman look weak.....even after Luthor and Ock artificially power Spidey up, Supes still says he's taking it easy on him.....and after Spidey angers him enough Supes throws a punch, realizes the punch will kill Spidey and pulls it...and the mere freaking wind from the punch drives the wallcrawler 5 blocks away and damn near kills him!!

of course I have no idea what happened to my copy :(

LOL! I love that :D

I can see Ock ranting on about what a nuissance Spider-Man has been to him.Especially with his wise ass remarks he always makes.

Who is the bigger pain in the ass though?? Spidey or Superman?? Hmmmmm....

Interesting, considering the story was written by Gerry Conway,a Marvel writer.I know Superman is the Man of Steel. And I've only ever seen Kryptonite reduce him to a weakling. That and Doomsday, who managed to kill him.But that's a bit harsh on poor Spidey.

Btw dude you're now over 300 posts.Consider yourself avatar worthy ;)

That's a real shame. I have another Supes and Spidey book (All Access 1). Superman actually NEEDS help from Spider-man here because Venom gives him such an owning. Spidey shows up in the nick of time, seconds before Venom bites Supes head off.

Hope you enjoy the book Ock, I've wanted to get my hands on it for a while.

Just posted my avatar request in the community forum :).

And keep in mind it's been a while since I read Superman vs Spiderman...let me know what you think if/when you read it as to whether Spidey was made to look weak....I remember having a dumbass older cousin (DC'er to boot) who thought Spidey got too much offence on Supes....as if Supe's should have just stuck out that manly chest of his and Pete should have peed in his pants

Thanks CrimeMaster!

That's an even better deal than the one I was bidding for.I went and bought that one  I look forward to seeing the other versus stories, particularly that Batman Vs Hulk one.

Nothing like a classic Spidey villain in your avvy ;)

Glad to see you brought it,the trade is the better deal. The Hulk vs Batman is very good and there is another Superman vs Spider-man that features Doctor Doom as the villain.

In celebration of my new digi cam, I thought I'd have a little fun with my figs...

Thanks :) I was a little unsure of using the Ultimate pic but it really sells the emotion for me ...I always knew it was going to be the Gwen fall.....I read a lot of comic books as a child (mostly my older brothers)...and that included Spiderman......but once ASM121 hit the stands....I was a Spidey fan for life!!......which is likely why I'm a bit sore on JMS and that abomination Sins Past.....amazing really how easy it is to refuse to recognize a story in Spidey Mythos :)...Hell I'm like Abe Simpson and MissourAA!!

Electro,those scans are fan-bloody-tastic.LOL! :D

All bow down before Ock,and Norman get's a tentacle slap.Brilliant

Aren't digital cameras fun?? ;)

Yeah it's a truly classic moment alright.I think that image of Gwen on the bridge,Spidey buried under the debris of Ock's Master Planner lair with water dribbling down on him,and the 'Spider-Man no more' image of the Spidey suit in the trash can with Peter walking away, are the most famous images in Spider-Man history.

So iconic.

Don't mind JMS' bull s***.It'll soon be swept under the rug, like most of the Clone saga was.

Couldn't agree more although when it comes to Ock......

LOL! Yeah death can be fun to watch......in the comics that is ;)

The death of Captain Stacy is one of my fav Ock stories.I always say that Stan the Man Lee always wrote Ock the best.Well he did create him I know, but Stan came up with all of Ock's charming traits and really used them over his 100 or so issue run on ASM,whenever Ock appeared, which was quite alot during Stan's run.Though Stan made it no secret that Ock is one of his favourites.

Here are some scans Symbiotica generously provided, which show a story of from the 90's,which was drawn by Alex Ross,in which Ben Urich investigates Captain Stacy's death to try and find out if Spidey really was responsible for the Captain's death.

Typical isn't it.Spidey is fighting a super villain, and yet he usually get's blamed for it all.Captain Stacy get's crushed by some falling debris, and yet Spidey is blamed.Never mind the maniac with the four metal tentacles up there too.He couldn't have been responsible.LOL! Stan did love to make Spidey's life as tough as possible :D

Ock framed Spider-Man,even though it wasn't his original intention.Who'd have thought it eh?? ;)

I would've. I think Ock's got better things to do with his time. ;)

^What issue was that? Was it that title Alex Ross worked on 'Marvels'?

OK I have to know....what comic is this from?

Bullseye you are correct.

It's from the 1994 landmark series Marvels, written by Kurt Busiek and painted by Alex Ross.Beautiful art.I only wish I had this.I love the exchange between Urich and Octavius in the prison there.

I think that panel might be from Spider-Man / Doctor Octopus Year: One. Kaare Andrews was the artist.

I may be wrong but I think John Stewart from the Daily Show made a spoof of that
