Ahh, has anyone thought that the reason the tentacles lights went out in the water was because their little bulbs blew.

The lights were off but someone was still home.

in the land of comics superheroes and villains, that is hardly a death. doc ock and hammerhead supposedly died in a massive nuclear explosion in amazing spiderman #131, only to have both of them come back shortly thereafter. doc ock is hardly 'dead'. just recovering and biding his time somewhere.

considering doc ock knows that peter parker is spider-man, Raimi had to kill him off. Besides Ock has no reason to be a bad guy anymore, he was redeemed in the end, like darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.

I think even in the comic books prior to Doc Ock killing Captain Stacy, Doc Ock was taught to have died, I think he will make a surprise come back and fight spiderman and accidently kill Stacy hence being the 4th villian. And Oh about the light going out on the arms he can have a small back up generator built inside the arms operating system for emergency of shut down to start it back up and also like a shock treatment to start Doc Ock heart back up to save the organism they are attached to.

If he isn't dead, I wouldn't mind The Sinister Six for later on down the line. Maybe even the Master Planner storyline, where his being alive is a secret the entire time until the end.

That is, if we ever get to that point. There are still some great villians yet to be used. :o

The guy drowned. It would be ridiculous to bring him back - unless the tentacles AI just dragged around his bloated corpse in the sequel.

His eyes were wide open and weren't moving. He's dead.

There's no way he could have air down in the water.

Now, could the tentacles be alive and come back out with a dead Ock hanging on them? Maybe.:D

But I don't want that.

Hee hee I love how they said he didn't die, and yet the denial is everywhere :D

Thats the great things about the comics - 9 out of 10 times you never SEE the villain die, it's implied.

Raimi seems to have skipped this chapter by showing us a corpse floating to the bottom of the river.

He's not coming back.

I'm pretty sure we saw GG die by being impaled by his glider in ASM 122.

And here we are years later, and we've got stories of him humping Gwen and sending their Goblin kids after Peter, among other lame stuff :o

Yes but in the comics didn't the goblin formula give Norman healing powers like wolverines and the guy buried was just some drifter that GG killed and dressed to make it look like it was him.

Sorry if I'm wrong it has been years since I read it.

You're quite correct sir

My point is, they can look as dead as you like. But unless you check their pulse, or chop off their heads, or drive a stake into their hearts, then they are not dead.

I'd still lay odds movie Norman could return. Even though he was buried and all.

Ock just went into the water. No declaration of death. So we saw the tentacle lights go out. Big whoop. I've seen villains come back from much worse than that.

now listen; i dont really care what happens to ock, if he lives, okay, awesome, but if he is TRULY dead, no biggie.

i believe Mr. Arad said when discussing Ock's death to Molina that "you're never really dead in the comics; you just disappear for a while."

Raimi said something similar too. He even asked Molina would he like to do another one.

and Molina said he would drop everything and do it.

bingo.

but again, no big deal.

(seeing norman come back would be awesome; Willem Dafoe made that role his)

That's right. It was in an interview with Molina in Empire Magazine.

but again, no big deal.

It is to moi. Molina was awesome. I'd love to see him back.

Indeed he was. Just a shame about the costume.

Whilst it is nice to think that GG and Ock did not die I think that bringing them back will not be necessary. After all is a multitude of bad guys for them to choose from, why keep using the same ones over and over? I want a new bad guy / gal with every movie (providing they make more that is)

I'll settle for a cameo.

But my fan boy wet dream would be the Sinister Six somewhere down the line.

I have the doc ock suite from the spider-man 2 score if anyone wants it
