Doctor Who - Not a Hugging Type of Thread

So ... was Maebh/Maeve psychic or psychotic?

At first, the suggestion seemed to be that she saw the fairies in the forest because she was "always" looking for her sister, but that didn't seem to explain how she read Clara's mind (to set off on a self-appointed mission to find and recruit the Doctor), how she knew the future (although I guess the fairies could have told her about the solar flare) or how she got out of the locked museum without the keycode, keys and without the strength to open a door against vines/vegetation.

It also didn't seem to explain how she magically recreated/returned her "missing" sister with the help of the fairies. Or was her sister a runaway with a working mobile phone (despite being homeless) who obviously hadn't run very far away since she made it home before her mum and sister and who thought the best attempt at a reunion would be to hide in the bushes for unspecified reasons until magically revealed by fairies?

I found it all very confusing. As Maebh/Maeve was meant to be the central guest star, I thought her story was poorly done.

I hope Clara's not another weapon to eliminate the doctor.
I think there's two real possibilities:

1. The 'evil Clara' is a Great Intelligence infested splinter, with our Clara, "my Clara", elsewhere.
2. Danny dies, Clara tries to rewrite time to bring him back, thus why the TARDIS disliked her.

Or Clara is mind-controlled, or Missy transfers herself, etc.

I think it could be a mix of 1 or 2. A pure option 2 would really be supercharged.

Waiting for Missy to reveal herself as the Master...

I have this kind of weird feeling that Missy might be an older Clara (or one of her splinters) who's been influenced too much by the Doctor and gone crazy. But I don't think I'm right. I also hope I'm not right.

You'll be waiting forever.

I know this is the same tier of speculation as "Rory is the Master", but Clara has been wearing the same bracelet Missy does.

My favourite speculation is that Missy is a manifestation of Death somehow (maybe a Guardian), and she manipulated Clara's timeline (like that abandoned episode from Series 1) to be a perfect companion to the Doctor, hence the "Clara Oswald has never existed" line.

I think Missy is to Regeneration what Hades is to Death.

That's why she's calls him her boyfriend.

Clara is the "Twice Dead Girl." Cheating Death is basically what she and the Doctor did.

Where is 'Heaven' and how do people get there? That's what I really want to know, apart from Missy's identity.

I think the core reveal could be the place is a Cyberman production plant, and people on the point of death are converted. The dilemma for 12 may be letting people die, or letting them become Cybermen.

Also, interesting The Doctor is holding onto the Cyber head like Handles in that promo pic.

I'm not as familiar with late 80s Who.

What is the importance of that version of the Cybermen? I don't think NuWho has ever acknowledged any of the pervious versions until now.

Whatever storyline they choose, and whoever Missy is revealed to be - I'll know I'm going to be disappointed.

I hate admitting that.

The old head showed up way back in "Dalek" from season 1.

oh, okay. What is the importance of it to the other versions?

Dark Water/Death In Heaven has been described as a "spiritual successor/sequel" to Second Doctor story Tomb of the Cybermen (which is why they recreated the promo shot of Cybermen at St Paul's from the Second Doctors The Invasion).

Although it's not the same design as the Cybermen from Tomb, it is the design that lasted from The Invasion until pretty much the end of the Classic series.

I think it's been said UNIT also use it to show to the Cybermen they've already been dealt with before.

So, not long until the episode.

Anyone willing to make predictions about Clara and Missy?

And another fan who was probably feeling like a kid when he shot this

After she said "[BLACKOUT]the one you left for dead[/BLACKOUT]", I was expecting [BLACKOUT]Susan, or Romana... not THE MASTER!!![/BLACKOUT]

So Moffat is [BLACKOUT]definitely paving the way for a female Doctor.[/BLACKOUT]

I........ dont remember The Doctor leaving The Master for dead? I thought The Master sacrificed himself?
