Next week's prequel

BTW

Does anyone remember still River's stomach issues in "The Impossible Astronaut"?

I'll let you think about that

Thanks, Samurai!

Next week is going to be amazing. I was worried for this season about all the plot threads coming together but the wonderfulness of the ganger amy reveal has put that out of my mind. The worst thing is that we are going to have to wait a whole three months after the next episode for the conclusion of that two parter. Its going to be hell.

After next week's episode, I'm going to bury myself in audios and classic serials so hard. The anticipation is going to be worse than the Planet of the Dead / Waters of Mars gap.

I can only imagine how big a let down that must have been... Oh wait, I just think the week between The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords, only much less disapointing...

Anyhow, serious note, what classics you going for?

I'm thinking of watching a C. Baker serial since he's the only Doctor I've yet to see in action. I've heard his serials were mostly bad, so I have no idea what to watch.

Revelation of the Daleks is pretty good.

They should bring back the Knights of the Grand Order of Oberon.

Alright, I'm going to call this one completely in advance.

My theory is that Amy and Rory's purpose will be that they raise the "Time Lord" girl when they finally leave the show and that will be their way off the show. Perhaps to be guardians of a new race of Time Lords?

The only thing that puzzles me is that the Doctor mentioned Time Lord's can always sense one another. He didn't sense anyone of the sort. Perhaps she's too young for that to work? Perhaps a forgotten plot thread?

The Two Doctors. It's half a sceond Dr story and has Jamie in it. That or Vengance on Varos are what I'd go for. Or if you want to see some horrible horrible things blast out the screen at you, Trial of a Time Lord...

I don't think she's a full time lord: She's either a human granted some time lord attributes by being conceived in the Tardis, assuming Rory is the father, or she is a hybrid of some kind:
As Amy was replaced sometime before season 6 we don't know yet how the baby was conceived. Might be whoever swapped Amy with her Ganger could have used the Doctor's (or maybe the Master's) DNA to create the child.
The line about her being a weapon in the trailer might suggest the latter, but it could go either way (or somewhere else entirely).

And for Rory and Amy to leave the show to raise the girl (possible) they would have to invoke the 'some things can be rewritten' as her destiny at the moment is to be raised in an orphanage in the 1960's and used by the Silence.

Well, I can't get enough of those classic "Blankity Blank of the Daleks" episodes.

I was once told to avoid the Trial serials at all costs. I'll definitely look up The Two Doctors, though.

After this episode I want another multiple Doctor episode. Tennant would come back, McGann said he would, he was just never asked, Baker said he'd be open to it once and I'm sure others would come back.

I just want the next special to be about the Time War. Book it please Moff! Give McGann a proper send off!

Next weeks episode is going to be epic!!
Ive seen a few photos from next week and
We know the Cybermen are back but ive seen a picture of Roman Rory standing next to a Sontaran as well so i wonder how many Who villains are in this, and a photo of a brown haired woman guarding that fat blue guy from the prequel who many people are saying is Jenny, The Doctors Daughter..

I have also seen these pics and I totally do not get the [BLACKOUT]Jenny[/BLACKOUT] thing. [BLACKOUT]She looks nothing like her![/BLACKOUT]

I was watching TV earlier and I think they showed a clip of David Tennant's Dr Who rap party... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ_0yOA-5AY
Very bad joke but really it was the girlfriend's and I'm just passing it on.

I really hope that this isn't the last series to feature Amy and Rory. Their chemistry with Smith is amazing. I'd imagine they'd have a hard time replicating that. Granted, the only other companions that I've seen so far are Rose, Adam (if he counts), and Jack but none of them can compare to Amy and Rory, even a little bit.

Vengance on Varos or Revelation of the Daleks are the only good ones IMO.

Whatever you do, do not watch Twin Dilemma or Timelash. They were the first two classic doctor who serials that I watched and I felt like I was going to die when watching them (and sort of welcomed it). It put me off the classic stuff for years.

Trial of a Time lord has its good points that are overwhelmed by the bad. But the Twin Dilemma or Timelash have no redeeming qualities whatsoever apart from Colin Baker's performance.

Get a little bit of that Martha Jones into you Matt ;)

Great bum. And that's really all.

:funny: I haven't watched any Tennant episodes yet, but why all the hate? Is he really that bad or is Smith just so much better in comparison?

:hehe: Its not that I dislike Rose and Jack. I just love Mr. and Mrs. Pond. I have a difficult time seeing how any one else can match the chemistry that they have with Smith. Unless it is getting close to the time for the Eleventh Doctor become number twelve and I would not be cool with that at all! :(

I'm guessing you guys didn't read Arthur Darvills Evening Standard interview this week in which he talked about Doctor Who in past tense.......

Paul McGann should definitely get a decent story. However I think the time war is too big and grand and epic to be put on screen. Whatever they put on screen to show the time war will never match up to whats in my head. Its akin to the clone wars in the original trilogy of star wars. Everybody had an idea in their head of what it was like and then when it was shown in the PT it was a huge letdown.

Somethings are best left in our imagination.

Plus if the time war is featured I'd want to see the eighth doctors regeneration which will never happen if eccleston's comment are anything to go by.

Ah...After visiting a very spoilerific site I'm gonna have to amend one idea I was thinking of (They seem pretty sure of their info at the site so please do not read this if you don't want to know):
Looks like Amy's child is gonna be River Song after all. That takes the Doctor having anything to do with her parentage, even as an unwitting DNA donor, out of the question. How that works in with the little girl in the opening episodes I have no idea.
like I said, if you don't want to know don't read that spoiler as it is a big one (kinda wish I hadn't seen it myself now :csad:)

:wow: Elaborate!?!? :(

He said: "Getting a part like Rory was great, but now, coming out of it, I need to go and do something completely different."

I'd say that's confirmation he won't be back next year.

Yes, yes you should. But we all know what I'm going to do, I'm going to suggest you watch the Pertwee. Watch Inferno, Spearhead, Silurians, The Deamons, The Sea Devils, hell ANYTHING with The Master. AXOS!! Watch Claws of Axos!
After this episode I want another multiple Doctor episode. Tennant would come back, McGann said he would, he was just never asked, Baker said he'd be open to it once and I'm sure others would come back.

I'd love an episode where Smith was running around doing things and Tennant walked out of the Tardis and tried to interupt him and Smith just shot him down and continued for a bit before realising what was going on...
