Threadbots gonna regenerate this thread onto the fifth Doctor in a minute

So which Doctor are we on now? Six?

*goes off to choke a ******

We made two Doctor Who threads back when the mods used to close threads manually. The third Doctor Who thread was made by Thread Manager and labeled "Part 1."

We're on #7. Get your umbrella.

From the seventh stuff I've seen it wasn't that bad. It was some of the more watchable old Who stuff

I watched some of McCoy's stuff from his final season because I heard it was the best he did. That stuff was amazing, though it was jarring to see a Doctor who went around hypnotizing people like the Master.

Does McCoy speaking in his own accent or does he do an English accent like Tennant?

He just does his normal accent. And constant rolls his R's. I love the Seventh Doctor. I've heard his early stuff was naff but from what I've seen of his last couple of seasons, he's brilliant. He's by far the craftiest doctor and up there with Nine as one of the darkest.

My mind keeps going back to "The End of Time," where 10 hated 11 simply because he might exist one day.

That was just RTD gushing over the 10th doctor.

:whatever:

Nobody could do better than him! He died for our sins! We're all hopeless apes without him!

Compared to Moffat.

"Christmas on another planet! Cool!"

For at least 2 years planet earth has done just fine without the doctor on Christmas.

I'm convinced Davies kept showing us modern day London on Christmas (and throughout all 4 of his series) just to cover up how incredibly Welsh he is.

RTD gave us London more than the entire 3rd Doctor era, and the 3rd Doctor spent three whole seasons stranded on Earth.

Remembrance of the Daleks and Battlefield are both excellent.

From all the stuff I've read about the show's cancellation, it's a shame it didn't go on for one more year. McCoy had found his stride, and I would've liked to have seen the next companion and more of the New Brigadier.

If anything its the other way around. RTD had a documentary episode just about Wales on film in which he complained about Wales just bein seen as a country singing miners and how his Starz Torchwood series was going to show off Wales and be very Welsh.

I'll give RTD this much: Torchwood makes me see Wales in an incredibly different light. I'm now deathly afraid of driving through the Welsh countryside at night.

C'mon Manic without RTD one has to wonder how long we would have waited for the return of the Doctor.

I got the Complete Sixth Series in the mail today. Amazon also apparently knocked an additional $2 off of my pre-order.

I'm a little disappointed that the box cover is just the Doctor with his back turned rather than a group shot with the Pond family.

hmmm... letting Hollywood try to do a Doctor Who movie... oh, Lord, this could be SOOOO bad if they don't get the right Director, Producer and Writers... (I recently watched Ferocious Planet and believe me, it can get really, REALLY bad. That was such a disappointment it makes me fearful.)

Moffat responds to movie talk

To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot.

Apparently it's turned into a Moffat VS Yates war

Then there was this tweet

“Announcing my personal moonshot, starting from scratch. No money, no plan, no help from NASA. But I know where the moon is – I’ve seen it.”

NASA being the BBC worldwide.

A rumor is that BBC is focusing on the movie.

Moffat is annoyed because it might hurt any plans he has down in Cardiff and take away focus from the show.

Another rumor is that Moffat has become a problem for the BBC. Specifically with messing around with all these half seasons

Lots of interesting talk and rumor to digest before the Christmas special

As I rewatch the episode "Closing Time," I think of how much darker this episode could've gotten if they had revealed what Cybermats are made from. [blackout]Babies[/blackout]

Stormy would have become their king.

Uck, that's terrible news. Firstly, I feel bad for his partner. Secondly, I wonder what that means for Torchwood.
