Doctor Who - Regeneration 4

Sorry, End of Time is most certainly not awesome. :(

But Matt Smith's around the corner so all is well. :)

In the audios, McGann's Doctor is too soft to have done the thing that ended the Time War. He doesn't have genocide in him, even when pushed to the edge.

I prefer to think the 8th Doctor regenerated during the war, and it was the new, emotionally hardened 9th Doctor that committed the final act.

Where they took his character at the end of To The Death seemed to me a very calculated move to present an 8th Doctor that was beginning to harden into the Doctor that would end up destroying Gallifrey.

Ehhh, the 8th Doctor was certainly at the end of his rope in "To the Death," but he seemed more willing to break the laws of time than kill in the end. I'd have to see how the character is written post-TtD; for some reason, the current crop of 8th Doctor audios take place before he met Charley and Lucie.

Trailer for "The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe"

It looks kinda bad, but that might or might not just be the way the trailer is cut. On the plus side, Bill Bailey!

I actually found and still find End of Time enjoyable, it has its moments, it has its flaws but I can still watch and enjoy myself.

:awesome:

Christmas episodes aren't generally the best but on the whole they've been enjoyable bits of fluff and there is nothing better than an enjoyable bit of fluff on Christmas day.

End of Time wasn't all that great but if you turn your brain off it works a lot better.

The last Christmas special was pretty damn good. Great story, and Dumbledore!

So this year it will be the Doctor and Narnia? I'm down.

I take it that you did not enjoy it that much.....:awesome:

Hahahaah, I haven't seen it yet, it was more like "No... but it must be awesome... it's the 10th's last adventure... it must be amazing... I can't be below awesome... http://nooooooooooooooo.com/". To me, the most offensive thing ever in DW is the Gollum/Doctor from season 3.

Without giving anything away, the best way I can describe The End of Time is, "The 10th Doctor is Jesus, and you had damn well better appreciate his sacrifices!" :argh:

The Gollum/Doctor from season 3? I don't watch a lot of Martha episodes so maybe I just don't remember a Gollum/Doctor.

See now I know what your on about. Get your magical movie creatures right!

The End of Time is alright. Tennant, Cribbins, Simm, and Dalton put on epic performances as far as I'm concerned, but part one is filler. Part Two is where the action is.

Official Christmas special synopsis

Doctor Who - The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe
It’s Christmas Eve, 1938, when Madge Arwell comes to the aid of an injured Spaceman Angel as she cycles home. He promises to repay her kindness – all she has to do is make a wish. Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost over the channel, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever. The Arwells are surprised to be greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world. Here, Madge will learn how to be braver than she ever thought possible. And that wishes can come true...

Happy Birthday to "Doctor Who"

48 years of this mad adventure of a mad man in a blue box.

Two more years till a 50th anniversary special!

Anyone see Matts interview on BBC Breakfast. He talked about going to Steven Moffat's birthday party and hanging out with his pal David Tennant and Tennants soon to be father-in-law Peter Davison.

I doubt they could do a The Five Doctors for the 50th anniversary special because Eccleston's *****e bagness.

Have 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11, and say nine can't be there because he absorbed the time vortex.

I'd be happy to see 8 and 11. Anyone before 8 would look too old, 9 doesn't want to come back, and I think the more rabid fans need to be kept away from 10 for a few more years.

Don't act like you wouldn't mess your pants to see 10 and 11 on screen together ;)
I actully think those two would have the best chemistry out of all the Doctors pair ups
