The Dark Knight Does anyone have any concerns about the movie....

Found them!

I hate to deal in absolutes but this picture proves either of two things.

1. The Joker is perma-white, he applies flesh toned makeup throughout the movie to conceal his deformity and puts it on entirely in this scene.

2. He is flesh toned, applies clown makeup/warpaint to become The Joker, and we will see him in at least one scene without that makeup.

I'm sympathizing with those who want perma-white and it ends up as number two. It would pain many to see a flesh toned Joker without his actual makeup on. For that reason, we can only hope for number one, though it seems less likely by each piece we receive. The chance is always there though...

A few concerns for me are...
- The new Bat suit....I like the top but the bottom is way to busy and bulky looking. Also the neck looks thin, I'd perfer the scarier looking Begins suit with the thick animal type of neck piece along with the slimmer looking bottom half.
- I really hope this film isn't all %100 Joker, I'm looking forward to the all other characters as well.
- Although I do want the Joker to be a fighter and see good fight scenes, I do NOT want a Neo vs Agent Smith type of Matrix fight. That's just lame.

i have no worries! cept one....

while watching supernatural, Dean throws a remote at bad guys and says... and i quote, "I'm Batman!"

i'm officially freaked out now!

I highly, highly, doubt Nolan would have anything like that in his films. Just from seeing how he filmed Batman Begins.

I have a huge concern with this movie, everyone at school thinks its going to be bad cause the joker seems less funny and more demented... they are compairing it to the old ones...so what do i do to prove to them that its going to be good???

anyone???

His scars are def real so even if the makeup isnt at least we still get to see a slight disfigurement in his face. So then lets also say he is perma white and puts on flesh colored makeup...That happend in B89 and i thought the cool thing about that was even when u see Jack Nicholsons face with the flesh colored stuff the makeup artists did very well in making it look a lil wierd and realistic as if he just applied artificial color to his face

Well there's a guy at my work who's excited about TDK but he doesn't like Ledger in it, he's a Nicholson guy or something and he's seen the trailer, but I just told him Ledger's portraying the Joker the way I always wanted him to be, myself (all due respect to Nicholson)....So I don't know? Tell them that there isn't just only one way the Joker can be portrayed?

anyone???

Yeah! Tell them about the various styles of Joker over the decades. Let their uninformed asses know that this one is more like the original design from his first couple appearances as well as the more recent ones.

I told them that in this movie...that is the Joker, I always saw him as one who does deminted things, really not all that funny, and laughs at them alone...lol, but they dont seem to think so

Well, I'm sure those sad fools just lack imagination is all...and you will be graduating before the film comes out, happily!

I'm pretty sure he's permawhite. This is straight out of Batman number 1 -- that is, The Joker disguises himself as a police officer.

LOL, they don't seem to think so???! Yeah right! Most general audience/Batman fans only know what they have seen in the previous movies as well as the cartoons.

Next time, ask them like a smartass, "So...which Batman issues/novels do you own?"

anyone???

See ur friends sound lyk mainstream fans...B89 was a very good mainstream batman film in the sense that it showed what everybody knew already. You dont even have to be a fan of batman to know he lives in gotham, batsignal goes up in the air, he works in a batcave, has a really cool car, climbs buildings, jumps off rooftops thats something hat everyone just seems to know because the character is so big...Tell ur peepz (that is if they dont read comic books) that what the Joker is based on is much more than being funny, having his own lil pranks with exploding whoopy cushions, squirting flowers, etc. The joker is a laughing homocidal menace but he does get angry, his humor is twisted, he likes to hurt people, he gets a kick out of death and destruction...What more can u ask for? Just tell ur buddies to be open minded and the only ones who are going to miss out is them

Give them a few months, they'll be saying that Ledger as Joker is the best thing since sliced bread - such is the power of the all powerful advertising push.

well they ain't bat-fans! TDK won't get EVERYONE'S money, but they can get ours over and over again!

True that, thanks though, I will talk to them tommorow, anyone have a link to a really good trailer, like the best one out yet? Maybe that will change there mind :D

Concerns for me all the things that didn0t work for me in BB:

- The action being blurry again.
- The one-liners
- The repetitive, underlining and/or cheesey dialogue.
- The one-liners.

Joker is not on the list at all.

Are these the pics you guys are talking about? I just posted them in another thread. They're a little blurry, though...
