My only concern is that the Joker will end up not being permawhite which will damage the likeability of him greatly.
It doesn't have to be an acid bath, but he needs to be permanantly disformed. If its just his face white - fine. He can not, however, just be some guy wearing make up. If he does, Nolan has missed the mark.
He may not be permawhite, but he's scarred with that smile. I don't know if that makes a difference, but he's not just clown makeup; the smile is really there, you know?
My main concern is if Armageddon arrives before the movie is out. I'll be so pissed off.

oy, some people cant just accept change....i think the joker is scarier with make up because it makes me feel joker is just that much closer to being real. The Smile is something that could be repared easily. Its not a life altering change. Especially since it was confirmed that at least half the smile was of the Jokers doing.
I need the true physical transformation. I need to see that you cant just wipe off the 'War Paint' and Heath Ledger stares back. If that is the case, again, Nolan has missed the mark.
Hey, it's not 2012 yet mate
But seriously. Doubts? One. That this movie will be a critical disaster. I want a general consensus that this is a great film. And if you are going to dislike it over some make-up then you are, sorry, petty and very small minded.
Every myth differs with the telling. Do you see what I mean? There can be no definitive version of a character who holds a place in so many minds.
That's alright, we'll just get Bruce Willis on it.
