The Dark Knight Does anyone have any concerns about the movie....

I have one major concern about this movie, from what I've been hearing. I'm going to see this with my girlfriend, and there's a very legitimate concern on my part that she will go into a fit of jealous rage when she realizes that my reaction to the film is comparable to or greater than that to anything she's ever done to me.

I do value my relationships, after all.

The world has ended when Batman>Sex.

R.I.P. Earth

It's Beginning-July 18th, 2008.

I biggest concern for this film is Two-Face.
I couldn't believe it when i first heard, and I'm still having a hard time thinking that this will be his fate. Hopefully they truly get the character spot on though and make his appearance worthy.

Also I'm concerned that this may be Nolan's last batman film, which in my eyes would be a travesty because as far as I've heard things aren't left resolved at the end of TDK and i think Nolan should really come back to finish what he's started.

i wonder why they did an advanced screening in australia....i would understand for wolverine, or the new baz luhman flick...buy why tdk?

are you kidding me? :hehe:

heath freaking ledger, genius.

The Joker's original appearance didn't have any acid flowers or gags. He only had guns and knives, and the Joker venom. The venom was the closest thing to a gimmick he had. And the only time he laughed was when he thought he was dying. Heath's Joker is nowhere near that serious. He laughs when he's driving his slaughter truck and throwing Rachel out the window, he goofs off at the party, and he goes to the hospital dressed in a tacky nurse's outfit. And then there's the whole pencil trick thing, which is pretty funny in a very twisted way.

Considering where you're making this post, nice trolling.

Batman Begins was never meant to be realistic. Nor was TDK, really. They are meant to have a more realistic tone, and that's all. Think Blade Runner. Realistic tone, but still very much a fictional world. That's what Nolan was going for all along, which is why he had the crew of the movie watch Blade Runner before they began working on the film. Really, if Nolan thinks Batman and his vehicles could do all the things that they do in these movies, he's an idiot. But he obviously knows better than that, and I do wish people would stop exaggerating on the whole realism issue.

great post. i agree on all counts.

You are right, there need to be resolution. I think nothing is clear at the end of the movie with Dent and those that are sharp will see that and know that immediately.

Nolan will do a third.

It's all part of the plan,

you'll see.

If we could get the thread back on track, I'd say my biggest concern is that Nolan in his crusade for realism and plausibility has brushed aside the Joker's playful side and concentrated on his insanity. What I mean is, apart from the Joker acting crazy, he doesn't have his other stuff, like the acid-throwing flower, for example. Isn't it in one of the trailers where Gordon says "Nothing in his pockets but lint and knives."

I disagree totally. Go see the movie and then you'll retract this post.

Ledger is amazing.

Batman 89 was good - not great.

I want a great Batman movie. I want a truly great Batman v. Joker movie. It has yet to happen.

Sure!!! what's your big idea of a great Batman vs Joker movie? cause, you know, criticize is always easy, but not effective, I'm sure you are a man of action, not just words.... right?

To say something is not worth or is not right, you must have what's right in your hands...
