I feel like Kurse was more of a threat than both Malekith and Apocalypse. he basically owned in every scene that he was in.
I think Kurse actually looked pretty cool in Thor 2. I wish more could've been done with him because he was at least a physical threat to Thor.
So from what very little I've read about Suicide Squad, most are in agreement that the villain is atrocious. Looks like my point here deserves revisiting.Does Marvel have ample room for improvement in making consistently memorable antagonists? Absolutely. Know who else has this problem? Every single studio holding comic book properties. Hell, I'd argue that the competing studio's "villain problems" are sometimes even worse...

Parallax and Green Goblin himself weren't even that bad. And speaking of Goblin, Marvel completely dropped the ball on the Vulture's design; he looks like a character from Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell games... It barely looks like comic Vulture and everybody loves it calling the comic design cheesy and stupid yet TASM2 Goblin was universally **** on for looking nothing the comic Goblin & being an "Evil Ed" knockoff. Seriously, Vulture looks like an Amazing Spider-Man universe design. So from what very little I've read about Suicide Squad, most are in agreement that the villain is atrocious. Where are the Vulture Splinter Cell comparisons? I smell bias.![]()
Not saying other ppl can't like it, I just find it odd how everybody loves it for the same reasons they hated Green Goblin. Also don't forget "Power Ranger Goblin" and "Snow boarder Goblin" and "Dr. Manhattan Electro" and "Goomba Lizard"Just because you dont like it since its not what you wanted or expected doesnt mean there's bias when other people like it.

Could Vulture end up in a scenario similar to "New Goblin" from Spider-Man 3 where he's got the costume, but doesn't wear the mask all that often? If I can even call what Harry wore a mask.

Looking forward, I am expecting Vulture to be at least above average. They can't surely waste a talent like Michael Keaton, can they? He seems like the kind of person that will fight for the character so that the scenes developing him won't end up in the cutting floor. Although, it did not work out so well for Mickey Rourke when he tried to do that.
IMO, Vulture not being at least above average would be a huge detriment to Marvel.
The excuse we heard till now was "they don't have the rights to their best rogues". Well, they now got their Spider-Man rogues and are going for a Sinister Six villain supposedly played by Keaton. How could you possibly drop the ball this time?

That's an excuse, but the main justification is that Marvel focuses on the heroes. The movies are about them more than the villains (compare to Batman movies, which have traditionally placed more emphasis on the bad guys over Batman).
Besides, most people complain about Vulture too. He's not considered the very top of Spider-Man's Rogue's Gallery even though I think he remains the logical choice for this movie.
Spidey's already had a bout with Falcon in CW and made quick work of him as far as winged adversaries go. So Marvel will have to step up Vultures powers as well as the excitement factor for this villain.
So please no rehash of old plots making Peter know Adrian Toomes like with Doctor Connors or Dr. Octavius either!
