Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

Alright all, here's the low-down from the Pittsburgh Comic-Con: The re-launch is not yet set in stone, it's just in the talking phase. So with that said, we still need to continue on in our efforts with the letters, and buying up as many copies of the remaining issues. There's more info at the Spider-Girl message boards if you're interested, but there it is- the SHORT version!

Hey. Anybody hang up a flier to advertise Spider-Girl #97 through #100 yet? You haven't?! Well, check out page 203 of the May issue of Previews. Grab a pair of scissors and some tape, and ask your store owner if he'll let you hang it up in his store.

By the way, who this fan or fans are who are responsible for this advertisement have directly disobeyed Tom’s explicit statement that we should NOT spend money on a magazine advertisement for the sake of Spider-Girl. Who this person or persons are need a reminding of that because they obviously didn't listen. I ask that no fan attempt to emulate what these people have done in accordance with Tom’s wishes.

Now with that said, go buy a copy of Previews now, hang a flier, and let's save Spider-Girl! :)

A Spider-Girl update!

Alright folks, by now you guys should know that i'm a HUGE Spider-Girl fan, and the fact that i hear some people here really like the title, i look for post's to read about her, and there are none! So i decided to be the official Spider-Girl thread master! Because quite frankly, her title is just as good good, if not better, than her Dad's! So i'll do my best to keep those who like Spider-Girl informed, and hopefully, i'll get a little support and feedback from you guys out there. I'd appreciate anything anyone can give to this thread, and i'm not bias to anyone's opinions either. Although i look for postive feedback, i know to also expect some negative as well.

Ok guys, here it is! Come and get it!! And thanks for your support!

I've only managed to find one copy of Spider-girl and that was an issue that was online. I've never come across it after that. What I think it was was the first issue and I enjoyed it. I'd most certainly be buying it if it was readly avaliable or if it was collected into a TPB that was sold in Barnes and Nobles or Borders (which seems to have a much larger section then B&N).

Would really like to see just how likeable or unlikeable Mayday really is.

There is a TPB, only one. Th' rest are in digest form. Amazon has a buncha other SG books listed, so I dunno if more TPBs are comin' out or they got misinformed.

First of all, Welcome! And to cross reference what Wolvie said, you can pick up the Spider-Girl Digests @ Amazon.com, and pre-order the thrid installment of the digests too. Also, check out Spider-Girl Message Boards for more up-to- date info concerning Spider-Girl: messageboards.com/spider-girl ! Hope you're able to get some back issues, and issue 97 is out NOW! If they go for about $14, they are probably the hardcovers intended for libraries. Essentially they are the first six comics in hardcover. Kind of cool, although the title page is printed out of order in the first volume.

NRAMA: Fair enough. Also in Pittsburgh, Tom DeFalco went public with the fact he is in preliminary (i.e. not a done deal) talks with you about continuing Spider-Girl in a new, relaunched series after the cancellation of the current Spider-Girl series with #100, that would feature a new logo, and a more prominent role for Peter Parker.

So the first question is, what has to happen for these preliminary talks to turn into a done deal (or have they already?) Is it a creative/editorial issue at this point, sales/marketing, or both?

JQ: All will be answered soon, I need to keep some surprises.

NRAMA: And we in fact asked this question straight out in the past, considering the history of this title, considering the press conference of a few weeks ago, the fact the title apparently does well in digests, can readers chalk all this “adamant” cancellation talk over the last few months as just another wink-and-a-nudge guerilla marketing plan for a new series and continued collections?

JQ: La la la la la la, sorry can’t hear you.

I so called it

Ya just gotta love Joey Q.'s composure during that "Q & A" session, but damn-give a clue already Quesada! Inquiring Spider-Girl fans wanna know!

I doubt Marvel wants to make an official comment, be it yay or nay, before 100 comes out in July.

That, unfortunately- is true Jeffers. They're going to keep us on the edge for a while UNTIL- the final word is given. I'm still have faith for the possibilty of a relaunch- i just hope that Marvel will take things under serious consideration, and also keep in mind that though we may not be MANY in numbers, we're still a strong and fiesty group to be reckoned with!

Check out the latest Spider-Girl preview over at MileHighcomics.com! The cover is SWEET! Man, this arc is one the best, but i can't help feelin' like Marvel is choosing the WRONG time to pull the plug on things- especailly when the book is SMOKIN' hot at the moment. Ugh, anyway....

Spider-girl is ending on a high note. The last 2 will be the best

Who's the woman behind Mary Jane, talking about Normie?

Thanks for the link. Looks like I have some ordering to do. :) It's just something about Peter going all fatherly on May while openly talking about Spider-man/girl business that's enjoyable. I don't see why Marvel couldn't have done this with the 616 issue. The baby around Mary Jane and Peter looks good and in the 616 they wouldn't be as aged.

From what I saw in Last Hero Standing (read it in Borders), Peter still had the moves and if it wasn't for his leg I take it he'd still be in the game. As long as 616 doesn't have that happen I see no reason why they couldn't have him age more while being Spider-man.

Create a Spider family atmosphere. Works for Batman (side kicks and close friends) and Superman (cousins, wife, clones, etc).

Are there any Spider-girl advertisements in the 616 Spider-man titles? I don't recall if they are any or not. They would have gone a long way of getting those readers to reading this title I think.

For a long time now...many fans have begged Marvel to give Peter and Mary a child. Marvel has been pretty clearly in pretty much saying thats never gonna happen.

The possibilities would be amazing though.:(

Thats MJ's cousin Chrissy Watson, she showed up quite a few times during the Todd McFarlene ASM run

And Last Planet Standing has actually been pimped out by Marvel recently, almost every comic I bought this week had a full page ad for it. As well the main title has been featured in every, "this Month"/Books you cannot miss spreads they have in the comics

Question of my own, was Roddy in prison when the Scriers found him or did they get a bounty hunter to put him there? I had trouble understanding that aspect
