No sir, there wasn't, i think you may be thinking of Spider-Woman's cartoon- which was Jessica Drew. And welcome to the HYPE!, Spider-Girl Hype, that is!

I got my replacement for the latest issue that was damaged when it arrived. This issue was bent :( Sometimes Marvel really sucks.

Welcome back Zen! I see you spend a lot more time over at the games forum, thanks for dropping in, and seein' what's up with us! Are you still reading Spider-Girl, or are you standing firmly behind your "Spider-Girl Sucks" statement? Either way, it's good to see a post from you in here again!

That's cool giz, and i wish there were some art that i could point you to of Felicity. I know a lot of the fans like her when she was sidekickin' it with May as the new Scarlet Spider, but i haven't seen any pics other than the ones from the comic.

Love the look, the dialogue, the room itself (she's got an American Dream action figure on her shelf?), and all that. Really looking forward to it. That bit at the very end has got me a little scared. The perpetrator won't be able to hide, and I'm glad for that. REALLY looking forward to it!

Wonder if the letter's page and the Amazing Friends segment made it back into the comic?

Oh, hey! Last Hero Standing II coming out next year!

So I was right about Tom being super-busy earlier this year. I really liked LHS, and I'm glad to hear that Tom and the crew are going to take more time with the next story to make the sequel even better.

From the posts on the message board, I know a lot of SG fans were writing into Marvel last month. My letters praised LHS, asked if they'd do it again next year, and asking for another MC2 series. It looks like Marvel is really enthused about LHS, and has a lot of confidence in the creative team and in a sequel. Very good signs! Man, my jarkoer-sense keeps on telling me that another MC2 title is just another year or two around the corner ...

Another MC2 mini-series sounds like a great idea, although should it really be called LHS II? Would the series actually be a sequel?

Jarkoer, remember when we discussed the idea of an X-People mini-series? We don't really know much about them at all. What happened to Xavier?

Hey, CK! Whuzzup? :)

There's room for it. There's a lot of Hulk fans out there crying out for redemption of their favorite character. LOL
They're just tossing around ideas at the moment. Tom said they won't get serious about planning it until September. So ... if we start talking about it in some place where Tom and Pat and Molly are likely to see it, the fans might have an influence on LHS II. ;)

Yeah, that's the big trouble with getting another MC2 title. What to ask for? I think an anthology book would get canceled very quickly because nobody would be able to identify with the characters if they all only have 10 or 12 page stories in an anthology book. But on the other hand it would appeal a lot to many long-time MC2 readers. A group book might have a better shot at commercial success especially with new fans who've never read an issue of Spider-Girl.

I'm still hoping that Nancy Lu makes it back to Spider-Girl, and we get a glimpse of what the X-People are like.

Xavier? Eh, I assume that everybody that we don't see in the MC2 is either dead or retired. I think Xavier was probably more likely hauled off into space and is the emperor of the Shi'Arr star empire.

Well i'm glad you heard the noise, and got to posting! As always, i get beat to the punch when it comes to posting the link to the First Looks! Thanks Jarkoer, for delivering that devastating blow! (LOL!) I like May's new hairstyle, and in just 4 pages, i was drawn into the comic, and it won't be out until Wed.!! I really look forward to seeing what happens with Sandra, and by the way- was i the only person who noticed that Megan's haircolor changed from blonde to brunette? I can't blame Pat for the mishap, it has been a while since she's been in a story, (the hospital scene when Moose had a broken leg- if memory serves me correctly..)- and you can chalk it up to how girls are always changing their hair color too. I wonder if she and Jimmy are still dating? I miss the kids of Midtown High!

Definitely agree! I miss the Midtown kids and I'm really looking forward to the next issue.

Last time we saw Jimmy, he was dating some girl named Heather Noble. That was waaaaay back in SG #50 or something. Wow! Has it been that long since we hung out with Jimmy?! LOL

About Megan's hair? I'm just a simple country fella. I can't even figure out why girls feel the need to use lots of make-up sometimes. Heh! And I've noticed that she's still wearing the same sleaveless jacket. Y'know ... I'm thinking ... whenever she finally does decide to come out of that shell of hers, there's going to be a school dance going on, she's going to take off that jacket, and boys are probably going to notice her then. Just an odd thought.

Oh, a semi-spoilerish comment, but one of the founding themes of the MC2 universe is that superheroes are like pro-athletes -- after a lifetime of injuries they all eventually have to retire and pass on their legacy. I think it's interesting that --
this is the SECOND time in the past year that Mayday's been injured, and had to quit being Spider-Girl for a while. I love it when the story spends more time with Mayday than it does with Spider-Girl, but I wish it wouldn't take an injury every time to make that happen. Well, anyway, I don't think it's a broken arm. My boy scout first aid training says to immobilize a break up to the first joint immediately above and below a break. So if she can still move her elbow then it's more likely she's broken her wrist. I gotta admire her attitude against great pain and overwhelming odds, but sometimes it's good to listen to your mother and take a vacation. :) I don't think we saw the battle in LHS where she broke her arm in the first place. I'm kinda curious to know who she was fighting at the time.

Welcome to Spider-Girl Hype!, Batman the 6th! To answer your question, Spider-Girl's real name is May "Mayday" Parker, and she is the daughter of Peter and Mary Jane Parker. The universe that Spider-Girl takes place in, is 15 years ahead of the regular Marvel continuity, and is called the MC2 Universe. Basicly, all the Silver Age heroes have either retired, or died, and their off-springs' have taken over in their place, and continue in their legacy as superhero crimefighters. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks for the correction Jarkoer, it was Heather Noble, and not Megan! It's definitely been a minute! (LOL!) And you made a great point also with "the passing of the torch" comment, and i do hope that we get to read more of May's life behind the mask, because that IS the strength of this comic, and what gave it that perfect balance in the past. Maybe Tom was trying to attract a new audience when he was writing those Spider-Girl battle filled issues with Lady Ock, Canis, and Black Trantula. Which we- the fans, were asking for, and forgot about our other favorite characters in the book besides May. So in short, i hope that the issue, and the issues to come will feature more of the BEST supporting cast in comics!

Just read issue number #89, and it was ok. I loved Moose's scene at the end, it was pretty cool! One of the only times I liked Frenzs' work.
