Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

Unfortunately a letter like that won't help much, though we'd all like to send those words. Politeness will win the day. Tell Marvel why you like Spider-Girl and why you think it would be a mistake to cancel her. You might question the business sense of cutting off the digests, too, because they sell at least 50,000 copies each. Her monthly sales may be low, but in the graphic-novel category the Spider-Girl digests are about the hottest things Marvel has going. The character is not a failure, as Quesada would like the world to believe.

What we believe would be the quickest, easiest and most effective way to boost Spider-Girl's sales is printing out a flier that promotes the return of the Hobgoblin in Spider-Girl No. 97 and asking your comic shop to post it. It may be even better to mail fliers to comic shops. Scroll up a little and look for Jarkoer's post on the matter.

Together, we can save Spider-Girl again!

I'll ask Rick (the owner) if he would consider doing that. He said, as I picked up my first copy of SG, that his wife pimps that book out to everyone that comes into the store as "the second coming", so it shouldn't be a problem.

As for me, I'm going to start looking for some Spider-Girl back issues leading up to #94, and I'm going to ask the guy at my LCS if he can order me the trades.

All while cancelling ASM (and probably FNSM and MKSM) from my pull list. If everyone in this thread did this, Spider-Girl would be saved, Stracynski would be fired, and all would be well with the Spider-verse.

Welcome aboard, Shin. Glad to see someone with taste enjoying a good book.

Welcome back TW, and as always- you see we're once again faced with ANOTHER battle on our hands to save our girl! Glad you're back on the boards, hows your New Year been? Whatever happened with the music? Details, i need details! (LOL!) Anyway guys, i've been here in Chicago since last week visting with family, but that doesn't mean i'm on vacation with my efforts of saving our favorite title. I had my 8 year old nephew to compose a few letters to Marvel, after i brought him some Spider-Girl comics, and he was HUNGRY for more when i shared the news. He said, "Uncle, WHY are canceling Spider-Girl? I really like the stories." So he took the books i brought him to his school to share with his friends, and he told me that they liked Spider-Girl too! So Marvel has to know the market is wide open for them to market this title to the younger kids. Since i've been here, i've written two more letters to Marvel- so let's continue fighting the good fight guys'!

Hey, BS, where are you in Chicago and what comic shops have you been visiting? I'll be in the city tonight for a screening. It would be cool to get together, but I doubt we'd be able to hook up because I have to go to Columbus, Ohio, for a funeral Friday.

I dropped off a flier at the Graham Crackers in the Loop. Don't know if they put it up, though.

I thought of something. I realize it's pricey, but what if we found out our shop's pull lists, and asked our shop to order that many extra issues. Then, purchase those and give them out as freebies to get them hooked. #97 would be a great issue to do so.

Hi Blaque...

Always nice to know I'm remembered - and welcomed. The new year has taken off pretty good and the old one wasn't bad either.

About the music then... The album took off for a while but sales have slowed down now. You can download most of the songs from www.thorrutgersson.com (available in both swedish and english) and you can buy it from www.cdbaby.com/thor or from www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=2937831, amongst others.

Yeah. I now work as a "music consultant" for ABF and I've put my own stuff on hold for a while. But you know what they say... Can't keep a good thing down for too long! And I'll always continue to write songs.

Check out some songs and tell me what you think!

Getting back to Spider-Girl, I think it's time to go to the press. Maybe bring in the "female character role model killed off"-perspective. That ought to get things moving!

Good idea, except my pull list is already a strain on my allotted comic budget, an' my friend still owes me fer goin' on 3 months worth of comics.

That's a great idea about #97, but my concern is that people won't think to ask their comic store owner to order more copies of #98 through #100.

I'm going to print off some fliers

and mail them off to every store near me

http://www.freecomicbookday.com/fcbd_locator.asp

and ask them to order more copies of #96 - #100. I'm definitely going to get my local store to order more copies of #97 for the shelf, though.

If we fans can stand together and get the hype rolling on those five issues, we're gonna make thousands of fans.

Glad to be here, man! Let's hope alot more people come along, so we can keep this book going!!

Stupid f***ing Marvel....

I got my store to agree to put up one of those fliers, but I'm gonna remake one of them myself. Th' ones in th' prior links came out a LITTLE small an' I wanna make it bigger an' bolder.

My first attempt. Thoughts?

Already got that planned. I'll be typing up a little something to go with it, asking them to order a copy if they enjoy it. My shop owner digs the idea too and even mentioned giving me a higher discount.

What's the name and address of the comic book shop? I'm thinking of compiling an "honor roll" of retailers who are supporting Spider-Girl for the SGMB.

Glad ya like it. Add that to yer campaign an' gonna get that to my store to be hung.

I'm hopng to make a trip to the comic shop next week (money's tight this week, but that's no suprise, right?), and I'm going to ask Rick if he'll do it.

I'm hoping we can save this book. You just KNOW that Marvel is going to replace it with something useless if it goes....another X-Book (we really need another one of those.... ), another "NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME" crossover tie-in that'll be totally redundant in another month....or whatever.

Please post your flier on the SGMB. I'll do it for you if you wish. I'll even give you credit, 'cuz I'm a prince and all.

Alright, I posted it. Hope that's where ya wanted it. If not, repost it elsewhere.

Not sure of the actual address, but it's the Village Hobby in Orchard Park, NY.

Amazing preview.
I printed out a ton of fliers for comic shop How You Play the Game(as well as ordering extra copies in advanced), and convinced a smaller import and comic store to order 6 issues(A lot for them, considering the small amounts and selections).

Looks cool. Anyway, there's one thing I've always wondered about the A-Next and J2 specifically. Why isn't he with the X-People (where his lineage has the most connection)? Did DeFalco just give them up? I haven't seen them portrayed in Spider-Girl at all.

Well, Push was in a Spider-Girl issue recently. I believe it was issue 92. They also showed up in issue 67.
