Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

Back in December I heard Tom Brevoort mention on Comixfan that they were going to relaunch Arana later this year or early next year.

T-Bolts 100 was 104 pages so I'm hoping Defalco throws some major extras into the issue, theres not much I want reprinted though considering I have everything. How about a couple of all new stories like they used to do back in the day?

Spider-Girl versus Hobgoblin!!!!

Man, I cannot wait until that issue!

Anybody think that Pete is gonna put on the suit again knowing one of his old enemies is after his daughter?

That'd be an interesting thing to see. Spider-Man and Spider-Girl versus the Hobgoblin. On another note just bought 96 and am that more excited to see Hobgoblin next issue.

As excited as i am about the upcoming Spider-Girl issue, i'm more so anxious to learn about the future of my favorite comic title too. I know it seems like a whole lot to ask, but if you can-PLEASE pick up more than one issue of Spider-Girl, or continue flooding Marvels' office with letters! I don't know if i'll be able to maintain if i go into the comic shop, and NOT see Spider-Girl waiting for me on the shelves! (LOL!)

Coming down to the wire, and it's getting tense. :)

Definitely flood Marvel with letters. They're going to see a spike on #97, and letters would help them make the right decision. Tom can do an issue in just a few months just like he did in 2003, so let's see about keeping Spider-Girl unbroken.

Last monday I was talking to somebody at Marvel about this flier me and the guys want to get into Diamond Previews. Anyway, this guy (who is like a huge executive) confirmed that at this point the final issue of Spider-Girl is still slated for #100. But Marvel hasn't seen the sales numbers for #97 yet.

Oh, hey! Anybody want to back me up here?

Thanks!

Dude you don't wanna know how many times i've tried to post something in here, and the BLASTED Board made me go back to log in again!! (LOL!) Anyway, to basiclly summerize what i TRIED to say earlier is this: Keep on fighting, our efforts will NOT be in vain!" *whew!*

With all the discussions about saving the book, let's continue discussing the current issues that we have! After re-reading issues 96-97, i really must say that Tom was definitely in a groove, because the writting was very reminiscent of the days when Peter was in May's "webs" (excuse the corny pun..), and was always finding reasons to get down of himself about things he could've done differently. Also, i'm STILL not totally convinced that Normie has complete control of the symbiote- its' just something that i can't put my finger on, but something is definitely up with him. It was also great to see the supporting cast back in #97, Jimmy and Heather are still goin' strong, and we even got a special guest appearence from Brad Miller! (LOL!) Anyway, i'm really intrigued to see how this whole thing plays out with the Sciers/Hobgoblin/Kaine. (Good to see ol' Hornhead back in action too, even if his appearence was brief!) Things are starting to HEAT up, and i'm on-board for the whole ride!

97 to come out in a few days... hopefully this will be the turning point sales wise.

Hi, thought I would answer the original posted question because I just started reading Spider-Girl! I got the mini Marvel Age Graphic Novel that covers Spider-Girl #0-5. I must say I like it in this pocket book format, and I plan on getting more.

I bought it to read with my daughter who wanted it when she found out there was a Spider-Girl. My oldest son is a Spider-Man fan and we read the classic comics together and my daughter wanted in on the action. Now all three of us are enjoying Spider-Girl together.

I enjoy also seeing a more mature Peter Parker and MJ, it’s cool seeing these characters as parents of a superhero teenager along with a look into a possible future for the rest of the Marvel universe.

I also dig Spider-Girls “Ben Reilly” costume, I always thought that costume rocked. I thought the art of the series is very solid and I look forward to getting to some Ron Frenz issues who was one of my favorite and I think most under appreciated Spiderman artist.

Welcome aboard. I strongly encourage you to write a letter to Joe Quesada and Dan Buckley, because you are exactly the type of person they need to hear from -- someone who discovered Spider-Girl through the digests because his daughter wanted it after learning there was a Spider-Girl.

Marvel can't get it into their heads that if they treated Spider-Girl as a mass-market character and publicized her to the masses, she would probably become one of their best-selling characters period. Joe Quesada's answer to Marcadachamp's question underlines his narrowmindedness. He asked people at comic book shops about Spider-Girl and everyone there knew about her, blah, blah, blah. He should have gone to Target, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Kmart, CVS, etc. He would have gotten a much different answer.

Yesterday I was at the food court of a shopping mall that has a Buidl-a-Bear store. A mother and her three young daughters sat at the table next to mine. The middle daughter, probably 4 years old, had gotten a stuffed puppy at Build-a-Bear and dressed it in a Spider-Man costume. I'll bet you anything that girl would love Spider-Girl, and I'll bet you anything she has not heard of her.

...I can't help but feel a bit discouraged here. While I'm continuing to pick up extra issues and hand them out free, I'm not noticing a lot of support or hype. I wasn't around comic boards the last few cancelations, but it seems to me that the same 6 or 7 people are the ones trying to stir the hype... and well nothing much is happening. I'm trying to stir things up locally, and seeing moderate success, but...
I don't know. I'm feeling defeated over here.

In the past month and a half I've spend almost 80 bucks on Spider-Gril comics... I'm hoping that it sends a message. Keep in mind, the amount of readers it would take to save this comic the numerous times before would be more than what we have posting here... there are plenty of SG fans out there and I ber they've never heard of the Hype. Just have some faith... and do a little prayin'

Well the main thing that i concentrated on the MOST in you post Rez was, "...seeing moderate success" which IMO- is better than nothing at all. Believe you me, i've felt just like you many a nights, and even more so i'm sure! I'd like to thank you for standing on the frontline for this amazing comic book, and i just want to encourage you to keep your spirits up- the AIN'T over yet. All of our conserted efforts are not going to be in vain.

Only issues #0-5 were published here 'cause it didn't sell well. I liked it. Pity that no one else didn't. So I think I have to get the originals somewhere or TPB:s if there's any.

I guess we'll see what happens pretty soon. A lot of new people will lurk for a bit before they feel comfortable enough to post. But then you've got knuckleheads who are really quick to say, "Well, Spider-Girl's canceled. I'll just move on." (I guess they never learned from the other 3 or 4cancelations.) My main goal was to reach out to comic book fans in the real world, and I sort of took the internet community for granted. Not all comic fans hang out on the internet so it will be hard to judge just going off what we see on the internet. Well, we'll see what happens. I do remember way back in January when a lot of people were freaked out. It has been 3 months already. I guess the stress has been getting to some.

Whatever. Tomorrow is Hobgoblin Day! Let's show our excitement! :-D

I can't wait until tomorrow! This has been a very good arc thus far, and i am looking to see what happens between May and Courtney's relationship after last issue...
