It's true! As much as I like Hannibal, I like True Detective more only because it's HBO and they can go places even NBC doesn't dare. :p Hooray for McConahay's butt crack!

Beverly Katz is totally dead by the end of this season. I see her getting too close to Will for Hannibal's liking.

Oh god, I thought it was problematic that Hannibal had been increasingly thought of as a hero by the audience, this will just make it worse. :o

He did say other cable networks would be interested. Its live numbers plus encores would work for cable.

With how the show is financed NBC doesn't have to pay that much, hence why it was renewed. I can see this timeslot shared with other international co-productions for now. This timeslot isn't a priority right now, might as well fill it with low cost programming.

Yeah, I think if any of the main women are goners this season, it's her.

Also, I was at a sort of seminar with an NBC executive a couple of weeks ago, and she said that due to the unique financing and distribution situation they have going with Hannibal, it's actually a very profitable show for them despite the ratings, but if that were to change for whatever reason, there was an unnamed non-Netflix streaming service waiting in the wings to take it off their hands last seasons, and they're still chomping at the bit for it.

I just think its gonna be Alana. Her death would have a much harder impact on Will emotionally. I dunno, I'm just convinced its gonna happen for some reason.

Amazon, I'm guessing? They're streaming S1 after all.

I mean, I'd prefer Netflix, but if worse came to worst, anything that gets us more episodes is fine by me.

That was my assumption as well. And yeah, I too prefer Netflix, but as you said, I'd take whatever we could get.

Yea, as long as we keep getting episodes I give 0 f***s. It could even possibly help the show. When Damages left Fx the last 2 seasons ended up being pretty damn good plus, boobs and f-bombs. What's NOT to like?!

The characters I'm most concerned at this point are Alana Bloom, Beverly Katz, and Bedelia du Maurier (if we even see Bedelia again).

Gillian Anderson must love serial killer shows because she is in Hannibal and The Fall.

I doubt Bloom will die. She (or more appropriately he) plays a role in Red Dragon.

Well, I just looked on Wikipedia outta curiosity and Dr Bloom isn't even listed as a main character in the book so it doesn't seem like too substantial a role at least. I thought he was just Will's psychiatrist while he was hospitalized after the Minnesota Shrike case. I don't actually know though because as I've stated before, Hannibal is the only Harris book I've read. Is Bloom's role really that substantial in the book? From my understanding the role has been really beefed up for the show the same way Jack Crawford and Freddy Lounds have been

Bloom doesn't actually appear in the books very much, but is an important character in the context of the story. Not only is he Will's psychiatrist, it's kind of implied he's the first resource Crawford goes to when he needs a psychological/psychiatric expert on a case.

I feel like anyone besides Will,, Crawford and probably Chilton is a possible meal for Hannibal at this point.

Yea, but they've already diverged from canon in significant ways, so that doesn't necessarily mean Bloom is safe.

And isn't Beverly Katz in Red Dragon too?

Yea I don't feel like anybody at all is safe on this show besides Will, Jack and of course Hannibal. Everybody else, is fair game...... :hehe:

I'd like to see the other characters consume Hannibal-who would be kept alive as long as possible of course.

How do we know about Jack? He wasn't looking too good after that fight in the kitchen. :p

I mean, no he didn't look like he was about to have a good time at all lol but, as I stated a couple pages ago, I bet they are switching Will and Jack's roles with Jack being the one to almost be killed by Hannibal. All signs seem to point to that at least. I am feeling very worried about Jack though, that fight was so god damn brutal and Hannibal did get him right in the jugular.

Crawford is pretty important to the Hannibal mythos and they're not going to lose a big star like Fishburne.

I could actually see Hannibal just mentally disconnecting himself from the pain and appreciating the irony of his demise.

:lmao:

That is incredibly accurate. I can see the smirk on his face already

Not to mention [blackout]Bloom inadvertently gives Hannibal Will's home address, which is what ultimately leads to climax of the book when Dolarhyde finds and disfigures Will[/blackout]. While Bloom's role is small, it is quite substantial.
