Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 2

This last episode was just fantastic. Best one yet by far. It's so awesome to see everything starting to come together and fall into place.

I am still wondering if Crawford's finding of her was intentional on Hannibal's part or not. It's not like him to make mistakes and they kept playing Hannibal's song while it happened. If so, what is Hannibal's plan in all this?

Pretty sure it was intentional, as Jack finding her was intercut with Hannibal gleefully playing his song.

In terms of Hannibal's plan, none of us can be sure exactly what that is. But as Will said, Hannibal does things to see what will happen. He likes having control over other people and certain situations, manipulating their thoughts and emotions. Now that Hannibal knows Jack is on to him, what better way to **** with HIS emotions than by forcing him to come face-to-face with the biggest regret and mistake of his career? Miriam.

Also, the "Ripper" aka Hannibal taking credit for all of his murders was clearly a ploy to free Will and change the game. Hannibal knows Will is devising ways to get people on his side again. Will has been trying to tear down Hannibal's facade to get people to see him for what he truly is. The whole "Will is insane and delusional" thing isn't cutting it for Hannibal anymore.

Sitting in prison, Will was technically safe from Hannibal. Now that he'll be out in the open again, Will better watch his back.

I agree with what you said but there is a calculated risk -- Miriam knows Hannibal is the Ripper. Unless like someone else here postulated -- she could be too damaged to give reliable testimony about anyone.

Damn, such an intense episode. While I maintain that season 1 was terribly overrated, this show has really grown on me in season 2.

I'm really curious how Molly(Graham) will be introduced in the series(most likely that being the 3rd season).

That sounds great, I can't wait for them to introduce Verger.

This past ep was great.

I assume Hannibal slept with Dr.Bloom simply so he'd have an alibi, seeing as how Jack is becoming more suspicious of him.

The scene at the dinner table with Dr.Gideon eating his own leg was awesome!

Maybe. I do get the feeling, though, as far as attachment, that Hannibal, as he no longer has Bedelia Du Maurier to talk to, now sees Alana as the one to "lean" on. Just thinking.

I think Hannibal's reasons were pretty clear...

He'd put that on an email blast aimed at Will after he's locked up.

I read an article once by a self professed sociopath talking about how she doesn't think she's capable of feeling true human connection but craves it all the same and seeks what she can't have. It made me think of Mikkelsen's Hannibal.

Finally caught up, holy hell these last few weeks have been outstanding.

The two more interesting parts:

The TV series is introducing a few more characters from the Hannibal movie franchise. Where do Mason (Michael Pitt) and Margot Verger (Katharine Isabelle) fit into Hannibal's world?
I would spoil a lot of people's expectations if I tell you what happens. Mason and his sister are going to be a big part of the last four episodes. We'll see Mason as we've never seen him before, meaning alive and well, and as crazy as they come. We'll see Margo not being a "normal" girl as well. They're two great actors and there are some phenomenal scenes coming up.

"Hannibal" wrapped production last week. How crazy do things get in the finale?
Without saying too much, I can say we all had to take some long, hot physical showers to wash all the blood away. What happens to who I will not reveal, but it's going to be a mess.

Can't wait!!

Sounds awesome! Man, I wish this was on Netflix and we got the whole season at once.

TV Guide listed Hannibal as being on tonight--and they even showed a trailer on Grimm--but, instead they're airing a stupid documentary on the stabbings. This is bull**** as I planned my night around this.

So is this show worth catching up on ? Or would it be more worth while to wait & see if it gets renewed first

Definitely catch up. Even if NBC drops it other networks are interested in it. The show is financed and produced by outside sources. NBC only distributes so they won't really be canceling it. They'll just step aside and someone else will distribute it. It's more complicated than that, but that's the jist of it. This show will have more seasons. They may not be on NBC but it will have more seasons.

Amazing. I feel like that was the final strokes of a work of art and now we're going to start a new one.
