Btw has anyone started eating their meals with the grace and suave of how Hannibal eats his meals?then savouring the taste after every bite?
I think I'll try it. Everyone else will be finished three hours before me, but damn it if I won't look elegant eating my grilled cheese.
Individuals with AS experience difficulties in basic elements of social interaction, which may include a failure to develop friendships or to seek shared enjoyments or achievements with others (for example, showing others objects of interest), a lack of social or emotional reciprocity (social "games" give-and-take mechanic), and impaired nonverbal behaviors in areas such as eye contact, facial expression, posture, and gesture.
Seems to me that Will presents some of these symptoms.
Seriously though Matt, I'm not really trying to get into this any deeper. I've stated my opinion on the subject and if you're not willing to concede at all neither am I and we'll just have to agree to disagree although I do get what everybody means when they say they're using autism and Aspergers as a way to ground super powers in reality and even to a non-believable degree and are misrepresenting it. All I was doing was trying to make sense of Will's conflicting behaviors, nothing more and I absolutely under no circumstances am not trying to offend anybody. I usually don't care about that sort of thing but I love being a part of the SHH community and I treat it with a bit more respect and hold it in higher regards when it comes to intelligent discussion than I do something like Facebook or whatever. So can we just mutually bow out of this respectfully without getting up in arms about it?
this.I seem to be the only one who doesn't really find Mikkelsen all that obviously creepy.
He acts relatively "normal", to me. I dunno, I don't get the "obviously a monster" vibe. Agree to disagree, I guess.
Hopkins is a lot more "wink wink nudge nudge" overtly creepy (not to mention hammy) in the prologue of Red Dragon where he's hosting a dinner party in high society and isn't known to be a killer yet, than Mikkelsen was in the pilot episode, to me.
I mean, Mikkelsen has moments, like when he leans forward and tells the patient the line about how he'll know when the lion is in the room, and the way he (probably) feeds Graham the girl's lungs, but he plays that breakfast scene more subtle and low-key than Hopkins was in the Red Dragon prologue where the symphony board is obliviously chowing down on the missing flutist and someone asks Hannibal what the meat is and he says ever so very winkingly "If I tell you...I'm afraid you won't even try it". Hopkins almost literally gives this giant wink at the camera.
I love Hopkins as Hannibal, don't get me wrong, but he was enormously campy and way more over-the-top than Mikkelsen so far, including in the Red Dragon prologue where he's in the same "mode" as Hannibal is on this show...the respected psychiatrist who hob knobs with high society and isn't known as a killer yet.
I get the feeling i'm really going to dislike those 3 crime scene investigators (the Asian ***** and the other 2.... " sarcastic " guys or whatever the **** )
the Asian chick's smug ass " you unstable ? " comment made me so mad. like who the **** says that to someone they just met ? that's like saying " so I heard you got a small dick" or something. Asian women on crime shows piss me off. between her and that IA chick that kept ****ing with deb in season 3 of dexter.... just no. idc how racist that sounds.
as for the other 2 guys.... they just don't seem that funny. idunno.
Hopefully they're not in it very much, or the writers turn their characters around completely. Or Hannibal eats them all, that'd be fine too.
It appears dr. lecter should possibly try Chinese for dinner pretty soon.Hey, she's rude, so she's right up his alley.

I realize that now.Lol, but remember, Beverley Katz is part of the investigative team in Red Dragon (the novel and both movies) so that is unlikely to happen.

Yea I get that, they have gallows humor as a defense mechanism as their way of coping what they see every day, I think it's just Beverly being overly smug and the other actors being not the greatest, to be honest.I did not like Beverley Katz's character either, but it kind of makes sense when you look at the three forensic investigators. They've worked as a close group for a long time (presumably) and seen a lot of dead bodies. As a tightly-knit group, they likely developed a very twisted, insensitive rapport with each other as a coping mechanism, and that would rub an outsider, especially an outsider's outsider like Will, the wrong way.
They are annoying, but actually quite realistic in terms of human behaviour.
yep. pretty much.Yea I get that, they have gallows humor as a defense mechanism as their way of coping what they see every day, I think it's just Beverly being overly smug and the other actors being not the greatest, to be honest.
