I dont care if Chloe is Australian, Irish, South African etc Its just an accent. I care about the quality of the character and whether the actress can act. You dont cast first based on accent.

Especially considering her nationality is not even mentioned within the context of the games. I didn't even know she was austrailian until reading it here, her accent is not really an Aussie accent, but more of a non-descript one, as even ND would tell you.

Man, who cares about accents? Kurylenko is a fantastic choice fro Chloe.

Wahlberg I believe left the project with Russell. Thankfully.

Oh wow! I had no idea, I kinda stopped following the movie developments as soon as Wahlberg was announced.

Agreed, I've grown quite fond of her since QoS. I think she would be a good choice.

What about the voice actress, Claudia Black? Shes only done tv as far as i know but she fits the character.

You really think she could do an Australian accent?
Why not? Again, she was able to adopt a Spanish accent fairly well so I don't see why she couldn't do the same for an Australian accent. She just needs a good dialect coach.

Not very many actors can get our accent right. I highly doubt she could.

Personally I'd love it if all the voice actors could be in the film adaptation and play as the characters they voice but that seems unlikely...:(

I don't know if anyone else in this thread watches Alphas but I think Warren Christie who plays Hicks could make for a decent Drake.

man wtf is up with this movie. It seems like a slam dunk to me Im surprised that arent fast tracking it

It's a videogame property. No one wants to take the risk and be the first ones to try and get it right but everyone is chomping at the bit to be the ones to do it second. Studios are buying up all the property rights to have something ready to go when someone actually nails it I think.

Tomb Raider was a financial success but received mixed results with critics and audiences. The second one bombed out.

Prince of Persia tanked.

And I mean look at the one that's getting done right now by Dreamworks, NEED FOR SPEED. It's a ****ing racing game series. Not exactly what I'd consider like one of these deep, intricate stories with strong characters and all that.

Now all we needs is a GUITAR HERO movie.

only hope for video games now is assasins creed since it has fassbender attached which i hope will attract a great director

Project, I'm not holding my breath. Halo had Peter ****ing Jackson attached as a producer, a guy whose Lord of the Rings movie took home 11 out of 11 Academy Awards. And they STILL couldn't get it done.

Fassbender is great and all, but Jackson > Fassbender.

Halo fell apart because the budget skyrocketed and no studio would pay for it. Assassins Creed shouldnt have that problem.

Marvolo, oh it shouldn't? We are talking about an epic science fiction period drama that spans across centuries. It has aliens and lost technology. Secret societies and organizations. It's set in the past and the future. Huge period sets and locations. Complex action sequences.

How does it not have that problem?

Case in point, Prince of Persia for example still cost over $200 million.

The sad thing is that these video game properties are essential untapped gold mines if given to the right people. What a waste. And Sony needs the money, but they got to understand this: To make money you gotta spend money. Use their resources to find the right people. Make a damn good movie then you'll draw in a crowd.

Studios seem to be having difficulty understanding the potencial of Video game and anime properties, they already nailed comic books but with these they don't seem to be even trying

I think the problem is that middle management hurts the studio system. The endless red tape and such. If the movie making process was more direct, with an ambitious young exec pushing for a video game adaptation to a studio head, i'm sure it'll get greenlit right away.

I'm watching Lock Out right now and Guy Pierces character reminds me a lot of Drake to the point where he's my #1 choice for the character now.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Asked to Write Uncharted Film
But they can't work out how to make it distinct from Indiana Jones.
by Daniel Krupa JUNE 27, 2013
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have been approached multiple times by developer Naughty Dog to write a script for the Uncharted film.

“They’re constantly asking me and Evan to make the Uncharted movie,” Rogen told IGN during an interview for his latest movie, This Is The End. (You can watch the pair talking about the Uncharted film in the news video above.)

Goldberg went on to reveal they've been asked multiple times over the last four years, but have declined the job, despite being huge fans of the games, because they can't think of the right treatment. “It’s just going to be Indiana Jones,” says Goldberg. “If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it’d be awesome.”

An Uncharted movie has been in development since mid-2007, with various directors and writers attached to the project over the years. The film came close to shooting in 2011 with David O. Russell in the director’s chair and Mark Wahlberg in the role of Nathan Drake. It was a controversial adaptation, with Russell heavily altering the source material – Robert De Niro and Joe Peschi were cast as Drake’s father and uncle respectively. Ultimately, Russell left the project abruptly citing creative differences with Sony.

While director Neil Burger was briefly slated to take charge of the movie in the interim, there's currently no director attached to the film. The last we heard screenwriters Marianne and Cormac Wibberley (National Treasure, Bad Boys II) had been hired to rewrite the flick, but that was way back in August, 2012. There have been no updates since.

Do you think Rogen and Goldberg would be a good fit for the film (Naughty Dog obviously think so)? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
