I might sound like a homer but I truly think Sony won as far as conferences go.

No I agree. They really did. They didnt push motion controls too much (like Microsoft did), they didnt give a presentation on "meh" hardware (like Nintendo), I dont even feel like they pushed the 3D to much.

And as someone who doesn't have a PS3, the Sony conference really made me want one

No, i think Microsoft had the best conference.
I don't have an x-box but they made me want to buy one, and they knew how to end, with a teaser for HALO 4

HaHa, someone said the system should be called "Wii Umad?"

No, i think Microsoft had the best conference.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but unless you are just gaga over everything Kinect, I don't see how anyone could come to that conclusion, to be frank.

Unless those games coming to PS3 and 360 as well have some major Wii U exclusives it does seem kinda odd that someone would wait to get Batman or Assassin's Creed on it.

thats already been answered with pics in this thread. There is a new console but the controller can be used on the current Wii as well from what I gather

Yes. The picture... Ok... but I went into this expecting more based on pictures I've seen... and, well.. they were wrong.

UNTIL Nintendo says "look, here's the full 1080p system that comes with this controller" well... I'm going to remain skeptic. They're not using the word console for a reason... obviously... But I'm not just going to assume that the picture in this thread IS the new console.

It's also weird that they are talking about games like Arkham City. Yo, that game comes out in a few months. Is the WiiU launch line-up in 2012 going to be a bunch of 2011 holiday games?

Good question. A big wtf.

all the gaming sites are calling it their next console. The graphics look on par with the PS3/360. You cant do that kind of update via simply a controller. Its the console thats responsible for the graphical increase.

Well Reggie is about to speak on G4TV, so hopefully he clears it up a bit.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion blah blah blah, but if I didn't have a 360 already, Microsoft's press conference this year (and last year) would pretty much make me run the other direction from it.

I agree.

However... I wonder why they didn't show off the actual console. They just kind of stuffed it in the background.

They're saying it's a new console, but they're focusing more on the controller. No upscaling of the wii content though. But its 1080p.

I beg to differ Reggie. Fans care about the specs.

I wonder to bc it created alot of confusion as people watched it. I thought it was simply a Wii add on as the early stuff seemed to be current Wii type material and then they showed that trailer which featured Wii-U titles. I dont think Nintendo structured the announcement quite well
