E3 2011 - Part 2

I was disappointed with all 3 big conferences. Microsoft showed some good games and interesting uses for Kinect but way way too much emphasis on it. Sony showed some good games basically everything we expected to see, could careless about the PsVita stupid name, if i want nicer graphics ill play my home console. Nintendo the Wii U looks cool and I think next years e3 will be its time to shine. The 3ds games looked awesome but Nintendo where the hell was Skyward Sword, not even a trailer for it. It would have been nice to see one game for the Wii U but I understand why there wasn't. If i were to grade them, they all get Bs. Good but not great. Also as for the mw3 vs. Bf3 fight, wow both their demos were so boring. The tank yeah we've seen that in bf2 and been there done that with the ac 130 part too. Mw3 spent the whole time swimming, boring it also had a huge been there done that feeling

I agree jacobed, I was dissapointed in it.

But I look forward to Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Arkham City

I do not own a ps3 but those are 3 games im most lookin forward to.

This E3 was underwhelming when it comes to Press Conferences

Of the 3 big one (MS, Sony and Nintendo), the best, imo, was Nintendo.
It was a safe and smart conference, and one expected by many (me included) to go as it did.
They focused on the 3DS holiday games and then on the new console, there was no Wii or DS in sight.
Only 5 games were shown (the 3DS ones) and only in trailer format, i was expecting more emphasis on Mario 3D, as it´s their biggest house name, with a live demo, but still it was good.
The Wii-U as a lot of potential, i liked it, but nothing i can´t see Sony doing with the PS3 and the PSV.

Sony was the second best, imo.
Their weakest moment was Medieval Moves, imo, the worst game of all press conferences, it was just horrible.
Having a sword and a shield and just ONE move controller is a big no.
All the rest was solid, with the big moment being Uncharted 3, which was simply amazing.

Microsoft was the worst of the bunch, not only that, it was really bad.
Multiplatform games galore, which is ridiculous when you are doing a conference about YOUR OWN platform.
The rest was all Kinect...
Highlights were Gears 3, but missed the wow factor as it was at E3 2010 too.
Halo 4, anyone with half a brain was already expecting that to be there.
The biggest disapointment, imo, was Halo anniversary, which is just a lousy way yo commemorate your flagship title.
Not only the game looks bad in the graphics department, it was nothing more than a trailer; Halo deserves way more for what he as done to MS.

Of all 5 press conferences, the best, imo, was Ubisoft.
Sure, Mr Caffeine was just sad, but they got the the #1 rule of E3 right (they were the only ones), wow and surprise, they got that with Assassin´s Creed: Revelations, but above all, with Far Cry 3.

I just don't see too many grown ass people with handhelds, it's usually kids.

That's because it's embarassing. I have one. I refuse to play it in public.

Because of the early leak by Xbox.com? I thought announcing a new Halo trilogy was surprising.

Hell, if it wasn't for that and the Halo 4 trailer...I would have felt ALOT worse about the Microsoft conference. That was...a tough conference to watch, overall.

I've seen grownups with handhelds. Hell, my dad takes his DS with him every time he has a doctor's appointment.

I'm not saying seeing an adult with a handheld is an every day occurrence, but I wouldn't say it's uncommon.

On being embarassed - it's rather pathetic that you care that much about what strangers think about you that you won't do something you enjoy. I'm not saying bring it to you and play during a big business meeting, but I play my PSP/DS plenty while I'm on busses, planes, on the ****ter, sitting around the house just hanging out, out at parks or the beach if im soakin in the rays. etc etc.

Also, why exactly is anyone excited for halo4? Made by a completely different studio and company who's only game is Halo Wars? Not too promsing at all.

343 didnt make Halo Wars Ensemble did.343 is made up of Bungie employees who worked on the other Halos

I have no issue with playing handhelds in public. It's the battery life that kills me. The current generation can only run unplugged for a few hours, before you become tied by the hip to the nearest wall socket. That's no fun.

A Halo 4 wasn't shocking because of the leak, but to hear that 343 planned a trilogy was something that was a surprise for a lot of people, including myself.

Look up 343 Industries and see who's with them before you say it's a different studio my friend.

I was half-kidding. I don't find myself on long commutes anymore. But, I have been self-conscious on a few occassions lately. I think it's because I haven't had a handheld since the Gameboy Color...and I just recently, like 3 months or so ago, got myself a PSP to play Peace Walker. And I don't know...maybe I just need to stop overthinking it and pull it out and play when I feel like it.

I've heard the theory that alot of people prefer to play IOS games because they're stealthly playing games, when it looks like they're texting or checking they're email or something. I don't know anyone who does that, though.

I'm always near an outlet. My phone always needs charging...so always having access to an outlet, I can always charge my PSP. I've ever managed to get in more than 3 hours of handheld gaming in a day, though. So, I've never run into that problem really. I do usually charge my PSP to 100% the night before, though.

This is considered "the official" award for E3 by many. What do you guys and girls think will win?

How is Bioshock Infinite classified as an 'Original game'. It's the third game in a series.

I guess they're looking at it as a spiritual successor to Bioshock since there's no direct story/canon connection, just that they still put the name on there. Doesn't make that much sense either, but it's the only reason I can think of.

Blue for what my pick would be, red for what I think will win, and purple if they intersect. If there's no blue or purple, I didn't forget, I just have no opinion.
