Any new neutral gamers will nearly definitely choose PS4. MS are relying on their loyal hardcore and recruiting new casual gamers (rather than PS3 owners) and they're doing damage to their prospects with both with their DRM policies (hardcore) and launch price (casuals).

Basically. There are usually a handful of announcements during the week, but the major stuff is over with.

In eight years of covering video games I have never seen a conference that aimed so directly for the opponent's jugular.

Other than that, though, it's difficult to find much wrong with Sony's E3 showing .That conference was Sony setting out its principles: this is how you support independent developers, this is how you respect your customers, this is how you present your games and your console to the world. The games looked good, the box was nice, the price was right, but it was the attitude that really smacked us in the face tonight. Sony was saying: if you care about games like we do, you'll buy a PlayStation 4.


Right now, I think most gamers would agree.

Last night really felt like watching a World Heavyweight fight

Yeah, apart from the 1st hour during which some of that content should have ben cut and convered elsewhere, this was a much more professional and well presented conference from Sony compared to their reveal. They built momentum with successive great best-of-multiplatform games as it drew to the conclusion. And the guy presenting the killer blows about the DRM etc was very good & very focused.
