E3 2013 - Part 1

I highly, highly doubt it. I think console gaming as whole is kind of on a downward trend with enthusiast gamers moving to PC and casuals fleeing to mobile.

I'm not too sure I'd say too many are moving to PC. Some.. But even those guys tend to have a console.

I Agree about casuals though.

kingdom hearts, disney has marvel and star wars. so just imagine that now.

I never really followed E3s in the past.

but, just curious, was there ever an instance before where one company pretty much buried another company? or where one company pretty much shot themselves in the foot??

Every company has their ups and downs from year to year at E3, but it's been a long time since we've seen something as one-sided as this.

Haha i havent liked anything nintendo related since the Gamecube, thats not changing any time soon. I have a 360 and PS3, i dont, in any way, need a Wii U. Not sure what Batman stuff ur talking about tho hah
lol it was night wing and robin in the Arkham series and you admitted they were cool when rock steady put them in atleast once. where you wrote them off prior and you did it alot too and then there was Bat girl most recently in Injustice. that you just went quite when she turned out wicked as an add on . but before same type of talk. lol well it's entertaining.

No, this is really unprecedented. Sony had a poor E3 when they announced the PS3, but it was really ONLY due to the price tag. Here, there has just been an OVERWHELMING rejection of EVERYTHING MS is doing.

I mean lets be honest, policies could change and things might look VERY different in 3-5 years, but MS could not be off to a worse start. Gamers just don't want the restrictions they are selling at this point.

I've been saying for awhile you can expect Spidey in the next Kingdom Hearts^^.

I never actually finished the first one but I'd like to play through them now.

Ohhh haha yea, but i still dont like the idea of the team up, i didnt have an issue with the character himself, just wasnt feeling any kind of co-op teamup.

And as for Batgirl, i still dont like her inclusion in Injustice, thats why i havent purchased her, nor will I.

PS3 launch e3 was a nasty bit.. But not THIS bad with what Ms did to themselves and Sony counter attacked with. I

Yeah, "RIIIDDDGEEEE RAAACCCEEERRRR!!!!", "Giant enemy crab, attack it's weak point for massive damage", and "You'll work two jobs to get one", was Sony shooting itself in the foot at the PS3's first E3. That said, pricing is correctable (and was in time), and the other two are just akward statements. While Microsoft didn't really do anything to kill Sony that year either.

This year Microsoft shot itself in the foot, and then Sony smelled blood and attacked.

As far as big moments that one company hurt another though, they've been there. The first time Kojima stepped on Microsoft's stage with the MGS alert sound murdered Sony. As did when Microsoft announced FFXIII was coming to Xbox. Those two moments still stand out as Microsoft's biggest blows to another company at E3 to me.

Anymore, so many "exclusives" are just timed, so Kojima showing up at MS's conference doesn't pack as much punch. The first party exclusives, and other non timed exclusive deals are what I care about most. The, "ooohhh we got you, we got MGS on our console" stuff just doesn't have the appeal, and shock value it used to.

lol ok I need to put my self back up on my chair . lol ohhhhhhhh

it's amazing how Sony won simply by not trying to rock the boat and radically change the gaming model/experience.

I wonder though, if publishers will still try to impose restrictions/fees on used games.

Sony said PS4 can play used games, but they didn't really say there will be no extra fee imposed by the publishers, did they??

I'd imagine, however, that any publisher that did try to limit used games in any way would face a similar backlash like MS faced......

Haha all i could think about KHIII, is who the f**k actually plays those games. Hah guess i dont care all that much about the Disney characters and the wild haired anime people?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Square Enix in general, period. I can't stand the Final Fantasy games, and I'm not a fan of run-n-gun MP shootemups like COD, and I don't even like Arkham, Tomb Raider or Deus Ex. Sleeping Dogs is the only Square Enix game that ever remotely interested me.

Still, there's a ton of Sony exclusives that I get to discover for the first time, and I'll be more than happy to find out what all the fuss is about regarding Uncharted, God of War, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, and even SOCOM. I'm gonna have a hard time adjusting to Gran Turismo, though --- I luh-huvs my Forza, and Forza has always been the superior racing game.

For all we know, Sony is sharing more PS+ revenue with the publishers, particularly now that multiplayer is paywalled.

but Arkham isn't a square title. lol it's WB's

even though I'm a bit disappointed that online MP will now be part of PS+, I'm actually not opposed to paying $60 a year for PS+ considering all the other benefits that you get with PS+. Gold doesn't give you all that extra stuff.

I'm assuming, though, that browsing the internet, youtube, all that stuff will still be free on PSN??

have they said if there will be a redesigned browser for PS4?
