E3 2013 - Part 1

Battlefront 3 got me the most excited.

I'm not quite sure it is going to be called Battlefront "3" but yes it is very exciting! Lots of exciting things! I haven't felt so good about E3 since about 2007.

It doesn't freaking matter if it's Battlefront 3 or not; IT'S STILL BATTLEFRONT.

DICE and Star Wars. It's still too awesome to be true. I can't even fathom what the game will look like. It's too awesome to even imagine.

Whatever it's called, it's about time! I wasn't expecting E3 to be so exciting.

I would be excited for Mirror's Edge 2 but EA scares me with their business practices affecting their games design.

I hope that you can be fighting on a planet, then decide to get in a ship and take it to space where there's another battle going on at the same time.

This was definitely one of the best E3s and I'm so glad I stayed awake for it. I would have never forgiven myself, had I missed out on Sony brutalizing Microsoft on stage. But back to the games. That Battlefront got finally announced, fans must have gone nuts. We finally got to see FF Versus XIII again, which is now FFXV. KINGDOM HEARTS III is finally happening! Wooooo!!! And Mega Man is finally getting some respect and is part of Smash Bros. E3 2013 was Epic. :awesome:

Definitely have to buy a Wii U now as there are finally games coming for it and they look great I just wish they'd release a true Pokemon RPG on the system that would be epic.
I'll probably buy a 3DS this year, then a Wii U next year, and a PS4 in 2015 which will give it long enough to get a good catalogue of games out (hopefully KH3).

Mega man is in smash bros?!

I actually wonder if that Mega Man is maybe our first glimpse at a new Mega Man game...

Anyway, I came pretty close a couple of times, but no bingo for me. :(

Actually though, I'm rather sad because I just know it won't happen. :(

Let's say I'm wrong and there isn't a Mega Man game in development. Mega Man in Smash Bros. could still lead to a new Mega Man game in a roundabout way.

Samus' popularity in the first Smash Bros. lead to renewed interest in the character and we got Metroid Prime out of it. Marth and Roy being popular in Melee lead to Nintendo finally releasing Fire Emblem games outside of Japan. Pit becoming a popular character in Brawl lead to a new Kid Icarus game.

Crazier things have happened...

Its funny because I'm listening to IGN's coverage from earlier today, and they're talking about how Nintendo showed some good stuff, but they're all waiting for a price drop because in its 2nd year, the Wii U is just $50 cheaper than what the PS3 is launching at. Aside from the first party Nintendo stuff, it doesn't seem worth it to get a Wii U when you have a much more superior machine coming out in a few months.

I'll get a Wii U, but not until Smash Bros is out...

You'd think he'd already be popular enough, with Capcom bothering to basically flip off all the fans in Street Fighter X Tekken.

MM's lack of popularity has nothing to do with him not having a game. It was pure spite on Capcom's part, plain and simple. I don't see generating much more response for him than there has been this entire generation. He is talked about; he is constantly inquired about; Capcom knows he's beloved and the fans want more. There is already tons of interest there and popular enough. I don't think Smash Bros will determine if he gets a game or not. Capcom will do it if they feel like it and if they get over themselves

I think you mean the PS4, but that's at least 5 months away. Theres plenty of time to drop the price and that will likely happen in the fall just before the PS4 and X1 drop

 Yeah, that's what I meant.

And yeah, there's talk of Nintendo not really trying to follow the rules of E3, when it comes to news, and that they could very well be waiting for a few weeks to pass so they could announce something big like a price drop. But if they could do that and drop to $250-$300, I think they could somehow manage to pull in to 2nd place, given how bad things are looking for Microsoft today.

Sony entirely dominates Microsoft, has a great showing and really introduces the world to the PS4.

Microsoft further alienates audiences, makes every mistake that Sony made in 2006 and throws in a rape joke for good measure.

I think it is pretty safe to say that Sony has won E3.

did Bioware show their games yet??

is it just Dragon Age 3?

I'm not saying that X-Box One is going to be MS's Dreamcast (its not nearly awesome enough to be the Dreamcast)....but it might be their Sega Saturn. In other words, MS might be on the brink of destruction. IMO, this generation is already lost for them, in a big way. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull back.

Attach your phone to your next-gen console controller for second-screen.

Both PS4 and Xbox One feature apps to take advantage of your phone as well as integration with games.

PS4 Second Screens

A new application from SCE called “PlayStation®App” will enable iPhone, iPad, and
AndroidTM based smartphones and tablets*3 to become second screens. Once installed on
these devices, users can, for example, see maps on their second screens when playing an
adventure game, purchase PS4 games while away from home and download it directly to the
console at home, or remotely watch other gamers playing on their devices.

Surely now they have to give up on all their stupid ideas about DRM & always online and even take a big loss on the console, anything to redress the balance. They won't get the good will back but they need to take drastic measures to not get buried in that 1st year.
