E3 2013 - Part 1

I am really into things like The Order, but there was something about the trailer that left me cold. Not feeling the look and just didn't seem all that original to me. Has there been gameplay?

Destiny left a bad taste in my mouth. Too many references to other FPS. Welcome to Halo Earth 1, with a bit of Borderlands and Mass Effect. I was ready for this new game, and it just feels like a mishmash of what I have already got.

Oh and I can't believe I forgot my favorite game from the show. The Witcher 3 is looking like everything I could have hoped for. :wow:

I am sure I will probably get more into it later. I just didn't hit the right note for me. I love that type of setting and I am definitely into the supernatural, but this felt a bit generic. Like hello Hugh Jackman's R-rated Van Helsing.

That's what turned me off right away. My friend was wondering what it was before they showed gameplay, and I told it it looked like something that would be a mix of the Star Wars and Mass Effect universe, but then I saw that it was a shooter, and a co-op one at that, which I feel is just flooding the market right now.
lol Mass Effect and it's sequels is 3rd person though. It'll never be the same as the other shooters mentioned.

this Xcom: the shooter looks like Mass Effect in game play style.

Halo yeah i can see why that would look similar after all it's the same creators.

I am talking about the aesthetic with Mass Effect, not the gameplay. The shooting looks straight ripped from Halo (yes I know the creator), while the structure of the game reminds me of Borderlands 2.

oh i see well aesthetics I still feel it's unique in its own right. yeah it's futuristic looking cause of the armor and all but still has it own look.

But Borderlands? hmm ok that must have been cause when he picked up that chain Gatling gun weapon in the demo and tested it out. ok on in that sense.

Same here, I referred to Star Wars and Mass Effect just by what the trailers had shown and how it seemed like another "Fate of the Galaxy" story.

But another big game for me was The Division, and I'm still trying to get a better idea of what it is. Its being called an online, open-world, RPG, which definitely sounds cool, but it seems like one of the big teams with these conferences have been creating a game where single player and multiplayer are mixed together without loading screens.Personally, I love single player games because I'm on my own, and this game seems like something where you'll definitely benefit from having a squad, and I don't really like the sound of that.

Just remember what's being done with the Division is some what is being done with Watch dog's to some degree. and only in that it's where single player and multiplayer are mixed. it's just being done differently. So they say.

Destiny looked pretty awesome to me and I'm not even a big shooter fan. Interested in The Division as well.

The Division

Destiny

The Order (I have a feeling it's a take on King Arthur )

The Watch

AC3

MGSV

BF4

Battlefront

FF14/15/KH3

ESOnline

Those were the games I cared most about.

I think there may be more to Destiny than just what we're seeing. I know other guys have touted the "fps as an interactive world" thing, but I think Bungie may hit it.

Yep. More than meets the eye I believe.

Destiny gameplay looked good but I can see comparisons with other shooters (in a bad way in that it is lowering itself to the levels of great games, but previous gen games that should no longer be in its league) and it didn't look quite as good as one of the trailers in which the game looks every bit the next gen launch winner. I' still super excited for it though. Somewhere near the top of the list.

I just want to know what it is that black tuck studio's is working on . It looked like a spy theme ip. please let that happen.

I'm really excited about all of those, although ES online a bit less till I see more of it & KH3 less but then I've never played the previous games. Also surprisingly interested in Titanfall, Killer Instinct and Dead Rising 3 (not into mechs & zombies as much as most people).

Witcher 3 also looks amazing. I think I'll enjoy The Order but want to see more of what kind of game it will be. The Division already looks as good as Watchdogs just from that intro. I'm probably looking forward even more to Destiny & AC:4 just because they are other worldly or more adventurous than real world, current/future settings to me.

The new Final Fantasy surprisingly got my interest back. Thought I might have been done with that series. Battlefield 4 is still one of the best looking next gen games and this time I'm excited about the campaign as well! And Battlefront although I haven't played before is a Star Wars game (that's popular with everyone) and made by DICE. What can go wrong?! I need to start following Metal Gear Solid V as well as that just looks crazy.

I think Microsoft's conference was their best in years but they still needed one more really big game. It could have been this Black Tusk thing if it was further along and annoyingly I thought that Halo reveal was going to be it. Stupid hiding Halo...that disappoints more than anything when you're looking for big new games. We know about Halo. Go balls out with that, not stealth! Save that for revealing something like an exclusive Destiny.

Speaking of spies I guess Rockstar won't be showing Agent?

Destiny was one of the few games I gave a **** about.

Ya know I actually really disliked Destiny. It bored me to tears during the conference. I was much more interested in Titanfall, but I like the Mech aspect to it. Hope it comes to PS4 sooner rather than later. But yea there's a lot to look forward to

Well that's crap. they first announced it in like 1884. :cmad:

yeah what the heck happened with that thing? it's way too quiet . And that usual means a title like that is cancelled or what happened with Metal gear rising and now prey 2 is at play there.

To me Titanfall looked like a crappy early this gen game. Next to no desire to play it, honestly.

"oh look.. Call of Duty.. With mechs... Great"

More or less my response to what I seen.

I remember sayin this with titans fall

hmm the only game I seem Excited about is Titanfall mostly cause it reminded me of when I got in Gundum wing and Seed series as shows and the pilot's would actually leave their mech's and fight them selves on occasion. That seem's to be the only game that grabbed me, I think I 'll look over some other stuff there must some thin else. . So far that was the one on XB1. Not much else.

As for the price. 5.99$ hahha they are screwed. well ok if it was 600 $ then they would be screwed.
Re: Microsoft E3 2013 Press Conference Thread

that doesn't mean I'm not interested in destiny. No,not at all But Titan fall did brin
g something new to the table.

And Destiny looks like Halo sans Master Chief. Even the aliens look like they were pulled straight from that fiction.

Altho iv always felt Bungie was severely overrated as was Halo(at least this gen), so when people started to speak of Bungies next game, i just kinda had the "big deal" attitude.

Thats funny seeing how many people on occasion would say how halo was overrated etc and you were always in the opposite side when someone came in a thread and said that.

Halo on the XBOX was great for its time, but after maybe Halo 2, other games came out and did everything much better, Halo stopped advancing. I mean Bungie has talent, dont get me wrong and they are responsible for pushing the FPS on the console, but Halo imo has been an after thought since its second game. With CoD and BF and even Killzone doing things as good as, or better than Bungie with Halo

Thats why i put these very important words in my last post: (AT LEAST THIS GEN)

Haha you always try to call me out and end up falling on your face man, c'mon now.

Mega Man shows up in Nintendo's crossover fighter yet Capcom couldn't be bothered to put him in either of the two editions of their own. Big fail on their part

I really don't get Capcom's thought process on Megaman. Even after not releasing console titles for him for decent stretches of time, he still has a large, vocal fanbase. They just refuse to listen.

Even if they were to just release 2D PSN, and Live releases, that would be better than nothing. Reboot the Megaman X series with HD graphics, improved gameplay, and more content, and release it as a digital download. It wouldn't take a massive team, and it would probably sell well. Why you would continually sit on a popular franchise, with fans begging for a new game, and do nothing is just mind boggling.

This is more of a gut instinct, but my guess is that Capcom wants to become more of a western style company, and leave some of it's Japanese gaming roots behind. Megaman probably clashes with that the direction they want to head in. I'd imagine their fighting games are the only exceptions to the rule, as SF is just too popular to leave behind.
