Sort of defeats the point of being supposedly "free-to-play" though I guess you could say you'd have to pay for the internet access and box to start with.

Online multiplayer will cost money, but services like Netflix, YouTube, Internet Browser, etc. will not be locked to a PlayStation Plus subscription and you can still use them without subscribing.
