I will say this. If Rockstar does not reveal either GTA VI or Red Dead 3 at E3, they have committed a major PR blunder. The CEO of Take-Two (Rockstar's parent company) is the one who said that they would be at E3 in "a big way." The speculation regarding Red Dead 3 has run rampant this past year, especially in the lead up to E3. If the rumors were false, Rockstar should have contained them or addressed them or something. Instead they seemed to fan the flames of speculation and hint toward an E3 reveal. If it was an elaborate troll job and all they have to show is new GTA: Online DLC or something...it would be a misstep to say the least.
Most fans would probably look past the misstep if they revealed GTA VI or even a substantial single player expansion of GTA V. But thus far, we have nothing. In fact, aside from expanding GTA Online and porting GTA V, Rockstar has done nothing in three years. In terms of development cycles, there was a 5 year gap between GTA IV and GTA V, so it would be unrealistic to expect a release of GTA V anytime soon (V is not quite three years old). But GTA V was announced with its first trailer 2 years before release in 2011. GTA IV was also announce two years before its release. So we are getting to the time when an announcement might be forthcoming.
But thus far, Rockstar has indicated no presence at E3. I know Take-Two will have a booth on the expo floor, but you gotta think they would've used a conference to do a major announcement rather than just having a game like Red Dead 3 or GTA VI teased or demoed on at their exhibitor booth. Makes me think the only thing they will be showing off is GTA Online expansions. I hope I'm wrong.
