E3 2016

So Konami only had a soccer game to show? How are they doing money wise?

Konami is actually doing very fine money-wise. The vast majority of their finances come from other sources from video games, and have for a very long time. They are basically out of the video game market.

Who the **** is Konami?

As others have said, Konami has their hands in many different industries. Gaming was just one small portion of that. So overall they're doing fine.

They still suck tho.

In terms of opinion, I say that Microsoft won E3 2016. Sony did good but they should of went ahead and announced their 4K HD console, since Microsoft did that in their conference. Nintendo bombed and failed E3 2016, even though they had a huge Wii U game, the new Zelda, they kept that hype throughout the reveal day, but they bombed the hype to low numbers when they showcased 3DS games and other games that we weren't interested in yesterday instead of announcing more new games such as Super Mario Galaxy 3, Pikmin 4, and a proper new Metroid game

Nope, as the article below indicates, Microsoft actually won and loss E3 in their own conference. They started good, but they jumped the gun in an attempt to gain an edge, and now people are confused.

Not to mention, they promoted the 2TB Slim model for $299, when in fact, you can only get the standard 500GB version for that price. So their form of marketing is confusing and outright deceitful, whereas Sony gave hard dates on half of the games shown, and then said the others were simply in development, without tying themselves to any part of this or next year.

It's not like they danced on the graves of the other 2 who had pretty good showings themselves. :p

Did Sony and Microsoft independently plan these significant mid-gen upgrades or did one move after seeing that the other was doing it? Or were they both responding to the threat of the NX? Would love to know!

A part of me feels like that the era of consoles lasting for like 5 - 7 years is ending.

4- 5 years would be a decent time per generation i say.

5 years is perfect I think.

I can't but feel like VR threw a wrench in everyone's plans.

The NX was supposedly more powerful and was supposed to be stronger, but then Neo was rumored to be a thing, and Nintendo came out shortly after to say NX was not going to be ready this year as planned. I believe Scorpio rumors started around the same time as Sony, but the fact that they're aiming at a release for next year, whereas Neo was rumored to release with VR (because apparently it would suffer in performance on the standard PS4) leads me to believe that Microsoft was responding to Sony. Of course, it could also be because they want VR support as well.

Everyone won at E3, Each conference had their own pros and each had games for different type of players!

Nintendo's at the very least was much, much better than last year. I just wish that they would announce that Monster Hunter Stories would be coming to the West.

It would seem like a response but I don't really know how long it takes to plan these things and know for sure what specs you can deliver. I guess there must be something to VR if everyone is jumping on it like this but it's gonna take something amazing for me to give it a shot. All I wanted at this stage was a console that can double as a 4k media player and not struggle with the current best games at 1080p and no frame rate problems so these mid-gen upgrades are giving me more than I expected. For 4k gaming I was expecting it to be only pc for many years.

Andrew House from sony talked about this and he had a good point. Sony got criticized when they announced the PS4 with no console reveal. They arent ready to show the NEO so why give it stage presence at E3? MS's XB1 sales will likely take a hit bc they know something new is coming and they hyped up how much more powerful it will be. They sold the Scorpio, which downplayed the current model even if they tried to say all games will work across all. Sony shouldnt detail and show the NEO, till its closer to release and I bet that wont be soon bc they'll readjust their specs so they dont fall behind the competition.

LOL...I doubt either see the NX as a threat

Nintendo didnt have a conference though. They had 2 demos, with people sitting around talking about it. They at least had a Direct last year with more games

lol their presence last year was soo bad. :funny:

Nintendo was better this year if only because they came out months ago and told us not to expect anything. The few surprises we did get were very welcome though. I would have preferred a bunch of trailers and release dates in a Direct rather than having to sift through hours and hours of streaming to get announcements, but it was definitely better than what they did last year.
