Yeah... I'd venture to say that no movie that has been announced to even exist one day has zero shot of passing this record.

None of the other Star Wars films will unless there's another 10+ year break in between them and even that won't likely matter since this one was 10 years after what many consider bad star wars so there was that "finally a real Star Wars movie" with this one. None of the other Disney owned LucasFilm movies will have that going for it.

The rest of the World can have their Avatar, metric system and Futball.

#murica #TFA :o

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I thought it was Footbol.

Yeah, that frelling metric system. What the heck is it good for? Oh sure you can easily calculate weight from volume and specific gravity, but give me a good, old cubic foot of water and I'll give you its weight....eventually.....I think.....

I joke with you all on it but seriously, the rest of the world is right on football and the metric system.

The two least important members of an American Football team actually use their feet.

And seriously, yards, feet, pounds? wtf are we doing!!! Divide by 12? 16? Isn't 10 soooo much easier!!

I thought it was futbol. And yeah the system we use in Murica is so bad, the people who invented it, the English, no longer claim it. When I was I kid it was called the English system. Now it's called the "Imperial" system.

Unless there's 4 seconds left in the game, a team is behind by 2 points, and you're lining up for a 47 yard field goal. AAAAANNNNNDDDDD....what do you think they run on? Their hands?? :woot:

Binary and Hexidecimal actually do have some very good uses; at least in my neck of the woods.

Remember, there are 10 kinds of people; those who understand binary and those who don't.

(You probably get that one, but if you don't, ask some nerdy friend)

OK. I'm going to start using the :o more often....

I'm curious now if Ep VIII can beat or reach TFA numbers, or if TFA number are an anomaly because people have longed to get a proper SW film after the OT...

I'll say that a Batman vs. Superman movie SHOULD make more money than Spider-Man, Avengers, Iron Man, etc. Whether it does is a different story.

That being said, though, Batman vs. Superman isn't Star Wars in terms of pop culture.

I don't see it making more money than Avengers. Maybe on par with IM (if they make another which I doubt). Maybe a little less the SM depending on how good they are. I'd say maybe comparable to CA:CW, but again, it'll depend on how they are received.

You'll also dealing with strictly DCEU fanboys. Not all of them mind you.

I call them the Tyra Banks of SHH. Everything is somehow brought back to DC.

TFA got 95% on RT. If that was BvS, it would have gotten less.

Then that post that Ronin posted. I can understand their frustration but I see comparisons to MCEU even though they are on Movie 13 and DC is on Movie 2?

Some of them are the most self-pitying posters I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with.

If we actually get some good DC movies in the near future, I could see JL making some really good dough. Not to offend anyone, but that follows the Marvel template....why not? It was successful. I'd love to see some good DC movies. Nolan's Batman movies, IMO, were really, really good (esp the first 2....I thought the 3rd left a little bit to be desired). I have high hopes for WW and have just started watching The Flash from the beginning. It is surprisingly good. I think The Flash is a tough character to do, but they're doing a nice job on it so far.

Batman V Superman won't touch any of TFA's box office records.

I don't think anyone thinks it will. I don't think it'll get to Avengers #s, but if it's super well received, maybe. I didn't like the original trailers much, but like what I've seen lately (at TFAs shows :woot: ).

Yes. I have read posts where they claim that TFA's high RT score is more truthful ammo that there is a conspiracy against DC comic book films by critics (from all over the world that don't know each other) that only love Marvel.

Even though if you engage your brain a little you would realize that SW getting a high score nullifies the conspiracy that there is a bias for only Marvel.

What Where did you get this
Facebook.

Zack Snyder was pimping Star Wars on his twitter because like every other nerd he loves Star Wars and he has been friends with JJ Abrams for over 20 years, the only rivalry is in fanboys minds.

There is a Marvel and DC rivalry (it's stupid but it exists) but Star Wars isn't apart of that and nothing is outgrossing TFA anytime soon. Not Civil War, not BvS, hell not even Rogue One will or the direct follow up in North America.

So in the spirit of two old director friends, I will not talk about this silliness here because I like two things at once, just ask DarthSkywalker and Hunter Rider.:o

Well, the critical reception made it clear that brainless popcorn movies about characters that have never existed before on screen are safer and more profitable than making popcorn movies that challenge and change established characters that have been on screen before.

.

Isn't SW and Marvel owned by the same company?

BvS will be very big, but stands no chance against Star Wars. And I'm not being biased this time, just realistic. People expected great things from MoS as well, but looked how that turned out.

Still, MoS is my most viewed film in theaters and I still don't know why. The movie hasn't aged well in my mind after 2 and a half years. I'll soon match the view count with TFA.

After Man of Steel's mixed response and that last trailer. I don't think so. Even if it's really good I don't think so.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens beats Avatar to become the biggest movie of all time

Marvel and Star Wars are owned by Disney making them brothers in arm. ;)

For real or are you being facetious?

BvS won't come close to TFA, but it could do Avengers money.

Star Wars is on its own level.

So TFA is now at $758m and going. What are the chances of it being the first film to hit a billion domestically?
