The Dark Knight Rises Easter Eggs in DKR

Loved the reference to TAS with Dagget, and also the special guest Judge at the puppet trial was AWESOME!!! Although I think we all know who we wish it could have been. :hoboj:

It was sad knowing that Joker and Bane could have been reeking havoc together, not Joker being an actual villain but just having him appear in a scene in the movie would have been great. :csad:

Anybody catch the name of the Cop that Rob Brown played?

He was the "I keep my money in my mattress" Cop at the Wall Street Standoff scene. The last name printed on his jacket was "Allen."

Could it be?

oh and another easter egg of ra's al ghul being immortal when bruce hallucinates (i was assuming he was in so much pain that he was just having near death experience and literally seeing ra's ghost)

I think it's cool how Nolan made Tom Conti look sorta like Michael Caine in the movie. In the pit, Conti and the doctor seemingly becomes the "Alfred" to Batman, something that reflects on the hallucinations/strength the Batman needs.

Selina walking through the airport in that outfit was reminiscent of Catwoman: When in Rome by Loeb and Sale

That would have never worked. They wanted the exact opposite. Joker loved Batman, and being able to play games with him. And while Joker would have loved the aspect of Bane's plan of giving the city to the people, he never would have been for the second part of Bane's plan. And, Joker hated schemers. He was all about planning on the fly.

I think it kinda does, since Blackgate was where they put Bane after Azrael defeated him. The actual line he said was "You're broken, Bane. Blackgate Prison can hold the pieces."

Was Blackgate mentioned at all in TDK or BB? I don't remember them every talking about it, but I might be wrong.

No way, I'm a [BLACKOUT]Crane[/BLACKOUT] fangirl so I wouldn't've wanted it any other way!

I think that if the Joker had been in the movie, he would have had a much more significant role than the judge part. I still think that Nolan might have introduced Bane or another new central villain, but the Joker would have had a sizable role too.

I read somewhere that the original plan for TDKR (before Heath died) was for Bane to have overriden Gotham and Batman having to resort to the Joker at Arkham in understanding criminal motivations - sorta like a Hannibal Lecter-Clarice Starling type of deal. It would've been a good move, but then everyone would've been focused on the Joker and not on Bane.

Yeah, probably. Still, that concept almost sounds like a ripoff of Silence of the Lambs since you KNOW the Joker would find a way to escape somewhere in the movie.

I'd have rather it been Two Face. That would've been an actual easter egg.

Nothing for Rises was planned before Ledger died. Nolan didn't even know if he wanted to do a 3rd when TDK came out. Anyone saying that Joker was planned is lying. Planning for Rises started in August of 2008, and even then it was mostly the ending.

There would not have been a joker bane movie had heath lived. Joker would not or could not team up with anyone. The character is big he would utterly dominate every scene it wouldn't work it would simply be another joker film.

The same goes for mentioning the joker, bane needed to establish himself as the top villain as much the joker did in the last film. Bringing up the joker would just cause the audience to start comparing the two.

I'm growing tired of the Joker V. Bane complaints.

They are completely different characters. Of course they'll be different.

Also, obviously joker would never team up with bane, he'd just as soon shoot him. Though I agree he would revel in a no man's land, ala the comics.

- Gordon's wife and kids moving to Cleveland (Chicago in the comics)
- Holly per-say
- Bane Of The Demon
- Bruce's ghost Liam Ra's saying a line that Wattannabe Ra's said in Begins
- Blake's father getting shot in a gambling scam ala Tim Drake's birth father.
- Blake deducing Batman's identity sort of like Tim Drake

Drake's father only died like that in BTAS bc they combined him and Jason Todd.

after he gets the leg brace... he kicks the brickwork.... like in batman year one when he punches the bricks and kicks the tree

Ok...this isn't an Easter Egg, but did anyone notice they said there were 12 million people in Gotham?

Weren't there 30 million people in TDK?

I don't think the island that they closed off represents all of Gotham, more like a really big version of Manhattan. Who knows how many other burroughs Gotham has.

Dent's corpse in a judge robe.

Now that would have been cool.

Thomas's burned stethoscope was on the same dresser that Rachel's and Bruce's parents photo was on.

C'mon, I know you all saw this one. A throw back to Catwoman issue #51.
