The Tale of Two Cities book is on the bedside table next to Gordon in his hospital room.......
Robin is Blake's middle name
And John is Grayson's middle name
I think I read somewhere that Michael Keaton played a prison guard in this one, anyone can confirm? I think I might have seen him on my second viewing but I'm not sure.
Thanks for the info, it is good thinking to include such nods in the movie.
I firmly believe the entire Batman and the Giant Bomb fiasco is a nod to this:

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but my friend thinks the "alligators in the sewer" line is a reference to Killer Croc.
I may have to look closely because the suit to me looked rather ratty and old and the seams and threads were coming loose. The straw and hay sticking out of Crane's suit!
He may not have the mask, but he still is a Scarecrow in a way.

And in addition to that, a detective is called a "gum shoe" and since Blake is around Foley all the time he probably gets gum on his shoes quite often, which PREDICTED that Gordon would name Blake a detective because he was always getting gum on his shiny shiny police shoes.
Should I not have sat in the front row both times I saw the movie? Cause I have a feeling I'm looking too closely at some things.
There is a also a Barsad in A Tale of 2 cities
Nice
And from Wikipedia :
The character Barsad, Bane's right-hand-man in The Dark Knight Rises, played by Josh Stewart, is a sniper and heavy arms expert. He is always shown wearing a bulletproof vest which has large bullets on it and a red scarf. This is a take on DeadShot, whom co-writer David S. Goyer had expressed interest in bringing to the big screen
