The Dark Knight Rises Easter Eggs in DKR

The Tale of Two Cities book is on the bedside table next to Gordon in his hospital room.......

yes Robin John Blake makes the most sense for the way that scene played out...

cause he originally just said John Blake for his name an she didn't see it on her list, they when he mentions he might be under his legal name, she finds it

if it was John Robin Blake, John R. Blake or something like that she would of noticed it.... but if it was Robin J. Blake (if she was just looking by first name) she could've more easily missed it

I personally didn't really like the way this scene plays out (I know they were going for a dramatic reveal of the name) but, it just didn't really make sense

if he said John Blake, and she saw a Robin John/J. Blake or anything like that on the list, she should've just said "I have a Robin J. Blake?" an he should've Just Said "Yes, that's my legal name"

also such a minor nitpick, but, if it is "Robin John Blake"... I kinda wish it was Jon instead of John

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but my friend thinks the "alligators in the sewer" line is a reference to Killer Croc.

I think I read somewhere that Michael Keaton played a prison guard in this one, anyone can confirm? I think I might have seen him on my second viewing but I'm not sure.

Ha, I don't think so.

I firmly believe the entire Batman and the Giant Bomb fiasco is a nod to this:

:D :D :D

I could've sworn Christopher McDonald was one of the Board Members.

John Blake entering the cave and has a blue stripe that dips down in the middle like Nightwing

Then Daredevil the movie made a nod at Killer Croc too....

Also, When Gordon tells Blake sometimes the system isn't working, he says it in the same way he told Batman he lost in innocence In Gordon of Gotham.

The straw and hay sticking out of Crane's suit!

He may not have the mask, but he still is a Scarecrow in a way.
I may have to look closely because the suit to me looked rather ratty and old and the seams and threads were coming loose.

I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out yet but there's a whole "alligators in the sewer line".....TOTALLY KILLER CROC....! Because as we all know, alligators and crocodiles are the same thing.

Also Deputy Commissioner Foley chews gum all the time and because the audio equipment can't pick up that detailed of sound in mixing, a FOLEY artist has to recreate the gum chewing sound. Total easter egg.

And in addition to that, a detective is called a "gum shoe" and since Blake is around Foley all the time he probably gets gum on his shoes quite often, which PREDICTED that Gordon would name Blake a detective because he was always getting gum on his shiny shiny police shoes.

Should I not have sat in the front row both times I saw the movie? Cause I have a feeling I'm looking too closely at some things.

That was the first thing I thought when I heard that line.

Lol...

Seriously though, a detective is also called "Dick", and I genuinely find myself wondering if that was some kind of extremely subtle Easter Egg. :ninja:

The only ones I can recall noticing the first time are the "cryo-sleep" and "big alligators" comments, being small nods to Mister Freeze and Killer Croc, respectively.

However, the one that I did notice that I'm blown away nobody else did, is Barsad. The dude was such an obvious nod to Deadshot, from being an outright badass with his sniper rifle, to his .50 caliber rounds on his vest, as well as the "inconspicuously-placed" red scarf on his neck.

My brother and girlfriend didn't notice when I mentioned it during our first screening, so I checked up on IMDB, and while this isn't exactly 100% confirmation, surely enough, there it was, mentioning Barsad as an homage/translation of Deadshot.

... Someone gimme Goyer's and the Nolans' email addresses so I can ask the dude myself. :word:

Tiny Lister is supposedly credited as Amygdala in the credits of TDK, so Barsad/Deadshot connection might be there. I sort of thougt Judge's character had Deadshot-esque armor.

There is a also a Barsad in A Tale of 2 cities

Nice :-)

And from Wikipedia :

The character Barsad, Bane's right-hand-man in The Dark Knight Rises, played by Josh Stewart, is a sniper and heavy arms expert. He is always shown wearing a bulletproof vest which has large bullets on it and a red scarf. This is a take on DeadShot, whom co-writer David S. Goyer had expressed interest in bringing to the big screen

Yeah, that's where Barsad's and Stryver's names were taken from.

But all mercs wore a red scarf. I did when I was at the Wall St. shoot.
