Elder Scrolls V

Personally, an Elder Scrolls MMO would not work, IMO. I'm one of the few who feels even though multiplayer is very fun, it causes some people to paly for all the wrong reason (competition). ELder Scrolls is just not that type of game, if you ask me, and persoally, I like it the way it is.

I hope the world is a bit more tightly constructed, sometimes there was a bit too much freedom in Oblivion's world.

I didn't like being a shield and sword warrior and being able to rise to top of the Mage's Guild despite my best spell being a moderate level healing spell.

Yesss! Game informer's website says that we'll be getting our first look at the game in next months issue. They'll have the cover reveal on January 6th.

Those kinds of things are pretty weird. In addition to limiting that kind of stuff, I hope the world itself is a bit more interesting. Oblivion had a lot of empty forests and wide open stretches. Not particularly rewarding for people who'd like to run around from place to place rather than fast-traveling. They could take a page out of Red Dead Redemption's book and have some random encounters sprinkled throughout the wilderness.

I've had some random encounters, like from the Imperial Guard when I stole a fork from Bob Smith's cottage in the middle of no where. Some how he felt to report it because 3 hours later the guard was arresting me lol.

Some how he knew it was me....and I never saw him. ;)

Heh, weird s*** like that happens. I guess that's one of the dangers of AI that's always working in the background all over the whole game world. But I find those kinds of things fun--they make the world feel more realistic. :D

one thing i hope they improve in Elder Scrolls V is to rework the Character Creator to allow us console players to actually make attractive, good/decent looking characters......lol.

I tried playing Oblivion on PS3. But, for the life of me, I just couldn't create a mildly decent looking character, at least when compared to other games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I know that PC users can download mods to create better looking characters, but us console players don't have that luxury........lol

I was able to make my character decent looking without mods.

No I liked it, I just hope they refine it more, to be even more realistic, because I don't think Bob Smith would send out the guards for a wooden fork. But I understand it ties with the morality system. I could not stop laughing when it happened. I think I accidentally grabbed the fork too.

Maybe his dead, beloved grandfather gave him that fork on his very first birthday or something. :)

True, true. I should have gone back and stabbed him with that fork for turning me in though lol.

Now the other question for everyone, how many ended up vampires? I almost did once but got the cure.

Never even knew you could become a vampire in Oblivion. Yet another reason to get back into playing it.

I became a vampire in Morrowind and Oblivion. In Morrowind there were three separate vampire clans you could join and each had their own story and quests. The vampirism in Oblivion sucked so hard by comparison.

(Edit: I was also a werewolf in Morrowind.) :D

I became a vampire in Morrowind and then later cured myself (got bored of the stupid sun hurting me all the time).

Can you become a werewolf in Oblivion too?

No, not in Oblivion. But if I had to guess, I think it's probably coming back in Skyrim.

Why is it so associated with the Nords? It was introduced in Morrowind with the Nord-centric Bloodmoon expansion, too.

In Morrowind there weren't any kind of wolves, so that's understandable. But I don't know why they weren't in Oblivion. Maybe Bethesda didn't have time to properly develop them or perhaps they just weren't a priority.

That's another thing that Oblivion could've used some more of: wildlife. Really, anything to fill that goddamn empty expanse of a world it had. Fallout 3 takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland; what's your excuse, Oblivion? :cmad:

I agree. Hopefully they've played a lot of Red Dead Redemption.

IF there are werewolves in Skyrim, it would be cool if they implemented in them in a way similar to the druid forms in WoW, where their appearance is based on your race.

Wasn't the werewolves part of an expansion set for Morrowind? I thought the original game did not have it right off the bat.

But yea Corp if you go to Lipsand Tarn it's right near Cloud Top which is north of Chorol up in the mountains, there is a place where everyone is Vampires. Usually if you fight them you will get infected. What happens though is it does not take effect until you go asleep, when you do it talks about having a dream that deals with vampires. Then you get more abilities, as time goes on you get worse. There is one cure for it, but the quest is a pain.
