She won't bring in as much money as Emma Watson but she'll be a better Belle.

Emma was perfect as belle. This movie is amazing this should be the standard in which all live action remakes should be judged on.

Hmm, it's gonna take a while, but I think it might barely crawl pass 500m domestic. In any event, I can't see anything else topping this domestic number for the rest of the year. Besides the obvious one, of course.

Its going to pass 500m, probably with ease. This weekend basically confirmed it. These later drops have been strong.

Finally saw this with my mom today. It was great, loved it.

I never got to see it in the theater, been working a lot. But blu ray is released soon so I'll probably grab it then.

What I love is that, even though the home release is in just a few weeks, the main run theaters where I live are *still* showing it (and it hasn't even touched our second run/"dollar" theaters yet)

No offense but why do you "think" that it "might" pass 500M DOM? It just reminds me of someone in the GotG2 BO thread who said it "might" not pass 900M worldwide. Like, isn't it terribly obvious at this stage?

Weekend actuals were up. 4.8m. 494.1m domestic overall.

I like to err on the side of conservative when it comes to box office.

Official Blu-ray announcement. Speculation was right, it's out on June 6th. Which is THREE WEEKS FROM NOW. I can still remember being a little kid and waiting nearly a year for the original Beauty and the Beast to come out on VHS. The future is here.

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced that it will release on Blu-ray Bill Condon's film Beauty and the Beast (2017), starring Emma Watson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ewan McGregor, Dan Stevens, and Luke Evans. The release will be available for purchase on June 6.

Official studio synopsis: Disney's Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio's animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. I love that the rumors were true. Also, love the cover. Might have to get two, because of the steel box.

Good gravy, it just opened two months ago!
Honestly, by the time it is released, we are talking maybe a couple million left in the theater run WW.

Oh man I remember those days, waiting for Space Jam and Power Rangers The Movie to come out on VHS took so long. You already had to wait a long ass time for it to come on HBO or Cinemax. Im talking those days when HBO and Cinemax was on basic cable.

Thats really, really early for a Home Media Release.
But i guess they made enough money with it in theaters, so its time to make a whole lot of money with the blu-ray, DVD.

Im not complaining however, the earlier the better, im happy about that.:gngl:

Heck, I remember the days before home video where if you missed it in theaters, you either never saw it or you had to wait years for it to come on TV. And if you missed a TV show you could only hope to see it in a rerun months down the road.

And of course there was the much anticipated yearly showing of The Wizard of Oz that I always really looked forward to.

Nobody knows what that's like any more. Younger people don't understand not being able to just watch what you want, when you want. Wait a year to see a movie? That's just crazy talk...
