That's got to be the worst case of stereotype misuse.
How is he "emo-Peter" in that scene. There is nothing "emo" about hip thrusting, dancing, gauking and hooting at women and pushing nice Polish girls around...if anything he is the Anti-Emo in that scene.
No, saying that a man with a towel on his head is Arab is the worst case of stereotype misuse.
You have no idea how much I laughed at that. LOL!
And we say Emo because of his hair style, mascara, and dressing in all black.
No that's just plain bad stereotyping, this is stereotype misuse.![]()
Yeah the "Raindrops" montage actually was funny. The emo/ symbiote Peter scenes and montage was just...awkward. Thats the best I can explain it. You kinda smiled at first, but then it kept going and going .......and going....and... what the hell, Peter is humping the air...and going....
It just failed.
THANK GOD some of you are finally starting call B.S on "EMO" Parker. I have said it before, THAT HAIRSTYLE DID NOT START WITH EMO KIDS!!!! The hair over the eye thing predates the whole emo trend by about 50 years. If anything Raimi was trying to make him look like a greaser or more likely a sleazy jazz guy. And the dark eyes were supposed to refer to a drug addicts eyes. Some of you seem to be so brainwashed by MTV that you think anyone with hair over the eyes is "Emo". Guess what? I used to rock that style and it had nothing to do with Thursday or Fall out Boy and had more to do with a New Jersey Punk band called The Misfits. Though I am sure most of you never heard of them because they never played em' on the teevee.
My band opened for The Misfists. My fave song by them is Astro Zombies, and if memory serves me correctly, OLD Afi used to sport the hair over one eye as well.
your band opened for probably the new misfits...it's not the same![]()
You don't think the intention of the 'Emo Peter' montage was for it to be goofy?![]()
emo spidey and by a distance.
whilst 'raindrops' pused the story and was funny especially when the camera holds on pete for a second the emo spidey section almost had me crying with laugher.
* pointing the finger at passing girls
* cookies
* hip thrusting coming out of the shop
* shoes on JJJ's desk
* BB flirting
* 'gonna cry little goblin
* 'OOOHH!!!'
* jazz dancing
that whole section for me had me laughing more than any thing previously in spidey one and two in fact I only stopped laughed when pete hits mj which shut me up smartly (and the audience who were also rolling with laugher)
so laugher plus shock imho equals better, funnier moments than either of the preious movies.
