Episode 08 - "Seven Minutes To Midnight" - Discussion Thread

I was very excited with Hiro's outcome going that far back into Charlie's birthday. i'd love to see what happened then. I'm guessing that's where he learns to speak English properly.

I love how they have been writing/developing this character. Hiro could easily have become a "ho hum" token geeky Asian but he and his pal are very well written and acted.

I have to say I haven't been this excited about a next episode of any show since, well, never!

I like how they've been giving us a break from the action to focus a bit more on the characters and give us more insight into the story. I definitley think Sylar is trying to become some sort of omega mutant, and all he needs to be unstopable is Claire's healing. It's nice to see Mr. Bennet isn't completely evil and has had some good intentions. I can't wait until next week! We're finally gonna get what we've been waiting for.

P.S. Does anyone think radioactive guy is gonna go nuts and try to blow up NYC? That's how it looks. I also think this show will have many villians rather than just one main baddie. Already we have Mr. Bennet, Radiation Man, Sylar, and possibly Nikki...and we're just 8 episodes in!

So what happened in the end? Hiro found that girl and changed history?

Looks like it, hopefully he can prevent what's going to happen.

Which brings me to my next point; Sylar seems to have telekinesis that much is pretty much proven. But I think how's he's able to cut off the person's skull like that. He could very well be like Psylocke (the psyblade thing) and along with his "I take your powers" power, he's pretty much the toughest cookie in the jar.

I'm not going to go into who I think he is but I think I figured it out from the preview...

Well I thought he use to top of the can she was opening to crack her skull. It was the way the scene was cut and it happened so fast so I cant be sure but thats what i thought it was.

Guilty, as charged. They're still the weakest characters, though.
I do feel Claire is the weakest, but mostly because she's the youngest and has not developed much baggage other than her being adopted and the confussion brought by her newfound abbilities

to understand Nikki, you just have to be a parent

So why didn't Hiro come back?

Is is friend ever going to see him again?

Or are we leaving that timeline in the past and focising on the time line where he saves the girl?

I think it is to soon to have the "Save the cheerleader..." episode next week. I feel we need one more episode before hand.

How is Peter going to get there and know to get there and save her all in one episode?

unless its a longer episode...

he did, he's in the picture

once he sees the picture, but he should be back

my guess is that "Six Months Ago" focuses on that, her birthday was six months before she was killed, and Hiro seems to be present at her birthday

I think we had one too many

maybe he flies there

I don't see how this is the case. Very little of her story has involved her doing things for her kid's sake. She snaps when Micah is threatened, but you don't need to be a parent to understand that. I don't think her relationship with her son is very well developed at al...

Back in Episode 5, Future Hiro mentioned something about not wanting to disrupt the timestream any more. I wonder if it has anything to do with him saving Charlie or just him going back to talk to Peter.

hmmm...but hiro was in the picture with the waitress on the wall. so he had to go back to her...

what a good episode! i cant wait for next week.

^But if he stopped her from coming to work that day, that picture never would have been taken right?

no, that pic is 6 months old

HIRO WENT BACK 6 MONTHS

and it seems that he is having some trouble getting home

oooh...6 months in a time loop thingie can really help you grow as a person

There's supposed to be an upcoming episode dealing with the consequences of Hiro's time traveling antics. I bet it will follow his journey back to save Charlie.

Hmmm...maybe Mohinder's dad is Sylar??? It's evident that his daughter and son have abilities, so perhaps he discovered his...absorbing abilities. Patient Zero...btw, did anyone ever see the film about the FBI agent searching for the zero point of a series of murders??? Great film, and I can't remember it's name??? Anyway, the FBI need to find the zero point, and perhaps we'll see this in the flashback episode.

Wrong. It is a terrible film that I wish I could forget.

Nobody ever pays attention. Dr. Suresh is NOT Sylar. Syler killed the doctor as shown in the Mohinder flashback. How do I know that was him? They intentionally showed his watch during the kill scene, which was the same watch they purposely showed you Sylar wearing in the diner.

Yeah, people are stoopeed.

some people elsewhere still think that sylar is
Claire's dad
Haitian guy
DL
Peter

yup

it's Nate :p

If Mr. Bennett is not a bad guy but a worried father ... why would he admit to Issac that some lived and others had "some unforseen accidents". And then goes on to tell him about Claires parents dying and he took her in as his own.

I wonder if Sylar is Claire's real father. Coming back to take what is rightfully his. But then again that last part is destroyed by the sneak peek of Sylar tossing Claire like a Tickle Me Elmo doll into a wall.

Was Isaac mindwiped by the Haitian? I watched the ep twice but don't recall them saying he was.

So, assuming he wasn't, when he was struggling to paint without being high, why didn't he just tell them to pick up Peter, since Isaac knows Peter can do it too, and without the drugs to boot...

If he was wiped, disregard.

he was taken in by Eden to get him clean

apparently, Mr Bennett, Eden, Haitian dude and Godknowswhoelse are working to activate and test these people's powers

according to what Eden said, they were working on getting Isaac clean so that he can paint the future without the use of drugs

but you must also be aware that we're not being shown the whole picture here

Much better than last week.

I liked the waitress especially.
