Error Code (aka The Great PSN Easter Outage of 2011) - Part 1

Oh joy. More hacking on the way.

I sincerely hope their use of the terms "lulz" and "all your base are belong to us" are being used ironically. Because they're about as insufferable as "epic win" and "pwn".

Still... as terrible as it would be... I have to admit that I would laugh my ass off if they hacked Sony's E3 press conference.

God these nerds are lame.

Sony needs to Tony Soprano these a**holes.

I can see a Sony rep now "No, we have no idea why the individuals that hacked our system all have shattered bones in their hands, thats news to us...."

the shop will not be up tomorrow. we'd have heard something about it by now.

I am pretty sure it will be up tomorrow. For the US that is.

geezus hackers...there Xbox and Nintendo...spread that **** around

Speaking of Xbox. Did you guys hear about Michael Pachters Xbox Live account getting hacked? Guess he didn't predict that. lol.

This is the week before E3, an important event for Sony, so, if the threat is legit, something will go down this week.
Not saying it will get hacked again, but they will try.

Hope it´s nothing more than empty words

not happening today folks

if it by the end of the week i'll be really surprised

The EU store will not be updated today but then again their updates are never on Tuesday. The NA store however is scheduled to resume their regular Tuesday updates today. I see you are in Ireland, so you wouldnt be getting it today anyway

thats got nothing to do with it. they have said multiple times that the regular update days will not matter as once its up, the store will be changed every few days to match the down time

and as it says america isn't getting it to the end of the week either so your point is invalid

we'll have to wait and see. I suspect NA's store will be up first with the EU to follow; not a simultaneous return for both

true but it just seems once again to be more back peddling for sony.

i very rarely even use the store so i'm not in the rush to buy anything, but what annoys me is there is like my self many people who got codes for games as the store went down which are now invalid

The MK codes, for example. I still have to redeem my online code, even though we can play online for now. And there are codes to get the retro costumes.

And I'm really curious to know if I will be able to download the games. I'm affraid I won't because my IP is not north american, but I can only hope.

Why would those codes be invalid? They expired already? MK has been out less than a month...

Actually, it has been out for more than a month. And the codes are invalid for now. They can't be redeemed while the Store is down.

99% of codes have a 2 week to a month redeem time after the game is released, i'm sitting on 4 MK codes and one for wwe all stars

i wish i had sold the codes now:csad:

That's different then. The codes are not invalid, you just can't redeem them without a store.

Well, I'm holding the Jade voucher code in my hands and it says "Voucher code expires on April 18, 2021."

So relax.

Haha! I was just coming on here to say that about my Kitana code. I dont see the store being down for 20 years :cwink:

Even if that were the case, Sony/Netherealms could activate them on their end and they would considering what the issue is

I didn't understand. If what was the case?
Activating them like they activated the online pass?

If they were to have expired while the PSN was down. They dont expire for another 20 years so its a non-issue. Im saying if they had expired wihin a month than yeah, Netherealm/Sony could have activated them on their end. Not quite like the online pass bc you dont have to put in a code for that, but they could change it so their computer/server would recognize the code as valid. People legitamtely paid for these passes. Its not their fault that they could not activate them and Sony would be in quite a mess if they didnt honor that. At the worst new codes would be issued to anyone with a reciept and can prove proof of purchase
