Yeah. He's basically referencing those who hated him before seeing him in any photos or footage to judge
Before?

He's not saying that they're ruining the franchise. He's saying that people hate him because THEY think he's ruining the fanchise.
It's highly likely that's what he means, probably is.He's not saying that they're ruining the franchise. He's saying that people hate him because THEY think he's ruining the fanchise.

The way it's typed makes it sound like Teller said "We are ruining your franchise".
I rarely blame the actor if a film goes wrong. Miles Teller is a great up and coming actor, as is the rest of the cast. I can't blame him for problems from the studio, the script writers or the director.
There are cases where actors deserve 100% of the blame (see George Lazenby on Her Majesty's Secret Service), but I think those time are more rare than not.
Huh...look at that. An official trailer with different tones, humor, action, exotic locales, a couple of elements that are recognizably "Fantastic Four" like the Baxter Building and the powers...
At one point I believe I even heard a character say "We should use our powers to help people".
While "This isn't what I want to see" and "This isn't exactly like the comics" remain valid arguments, hopefully this trailer will put to bed some of the hyperbolic complaints like "This movie will be devoid of humor, fun, action, adventure, special effects", etc.
I thought it looked pretty darn good. Certainly like a well made, entertaining film. I remain intrigued.
Also, remember how I kept saying there was blue in the suits?
There's blue in the suits.
It's kind of funny how this movie's supporters can't defend the movie on its own merits, and instead have to resort to accusing all the naysayers as being "MCU fanboys" who just can't stand Fox.

Yes, before. There were plenty of people hating him from the get-go because he was "too young" and had a "stupid face".Before?
I was happy with Teller's involvement from the moment he was rumored. Amazing actor. Whiplash was the best movie of 2014.
Face front troops! Catch the latest trailer for #FantasticFour. Its truly FANTASTIC: http://bit.ly/1D39JoR @FantasticFour
This is a valid criticism of this section and the way it's managed imo.
I've seen members come here to discuss the content of the movie and say they felt driven off by the regulars
That in my view one of the reasons why other members don't hang around here much. They come to chat when trailers or posters drop then leave shortly after as its just not welcome here to anticipate the movie.

We are discussing a movie here, not world politics or religion.
That's fair enough I guess, but I would have much preferred to not "wait for a sequel" to see them become the Fantastic Four family we know from the comics. A year ago, nobody would have been happy to know we'd get a reboot of them dealing with their powers once again. From the looks of the trailer, Reed and Ben don't even meet Johnny and Sue until the end of the first act. Furthermore, even by the time of the sequel, these actors will be far younger than the iconic group we know from the comics.Well, I for one am a huge fan of the MCU, and think this movie looks very good. Why? Because I have yet to see anything to give basis to the "fact" so many people keep peddling around that "this isn't the Fantastic Four".
When the team first got their powers, they weren't immediatly transformed into the happy-go-lucky adventures everyone thinks of them as. They were scared at first, but quickly took to becoming heroes in the span of one comic, because it was the 60s and they didn't have any time for in-depth story telling. This movie is the origin of the F4, telling how they overcame viewing their powers as terrifying and coming together as a family to save the world. I have no reason to doubt that by the end of the movie they will become the F4 we all know and love.
I've been paying attention just fine. Most of the comments I was referring to were deleted.moviedoors said:Then you haven't been paying attention.
