Based on what evidence? Considering it is a major influence of this movie, i would say Ultimate Fantastic Four's origin has clearly stayed relevant.

that's only because Fox is holding the rights and wanted a darker tone.

Lee and Kirby's Doom origin is still the definitive origin and is largely considered one of the best origin stories in comics.
-Ultimate Doom was changed to be more like 616 Doom.

I haven't done a midnight since Avengers. They keep doing 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm screenings for everything now and its just more convenient for me.

The hardest thing to get used to now is not having to wait in line all day. I remember waiting 12 hours for Spider Man and now I get in line an hour before.

The 7:00 and 9:00pm showings were in response to the aurora theater shootings. I think the idea is to thin out the crowds to make it less of a prime target.

Well neither of us can know what would happen if Marvel Studios had the rights, they could go with the Ultimate route too.

and wanted a darker tone.

Ultimate Fantastic Four wasn't darker than the mainstream one.

Well Marvel does mistakes at times, but they fixed their errors and saw that the fans loved the Goat legs too much:

He went back to his original design 1-2 years ago after being in the limbo for a moment.

I'm excited for the film. I know how some other posters feel and all of their concerns (despite my post count and join date, I've been lurking since people were seeing Venom in Spider-Man's eye and theorizing that Cyclops MUST be in the end battle of The Last Stand). And I'm certainly more excited for Avengers, Ant-Man and Suicide Squad than this, but I still thing it might come out pretty solid.

When has it ever been said that no one should be "allowed" to see this movie?
Seriously, the exaggeration amongst some of you is incredible. Not too long ago someone claimed that the detractors weren't seeing the movie based on Tranks alleged drug use, just today we have someone claiming they've seen people call for "boycotting" of this movie, and now some of us are saying no one should be "allowed" to see it.

Welcome back! You scared me for a minute.

I'm going to see the movie in theaters and analyze it..except I'll paying for an Ant-Man ticket instead, a movie I will have already seen.

Meh, "Hater" is the only word they can get away with calling people on this forum these days. Not that is has much value either way.

Huh, I'd be more concerned with being called a liar or you know... Actually proved wrong.

Kinda bummed about Fox rebooting Flash Gordon but if it takes the sequel for this reboots slot I'd watch it in IMAX.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Not Flash Gordon! I hate Fox but dang it! :argh:

My man!! :sly:

YOU CAN'T MAKE ME BOYCOTT THIS MOVIE! That tears it, I'm washing my hair another weekend!

Damn I just remembered, that date's set in stone. FUDGE!!!!!!

I really, really wanted to see that stone man from Saturn in action.

If I go into the AOU forum and say the whole movie looks like garbage, I doubt people there would welcome it. That would be the very definition of trolling.

If you go on the AOU forum and say the whole movie looks like garbage the other posters would ignore you. They know it is going to be a huge success and would not bother attempting to change your opinion.

Nah.

Anyone who says they prefer the DOFP Quicksilver gets jumped on as a Fox Troll or that Marvel's is accurate.

Arguments happen everywhere. But fans of successful franchises tend not to worry so much about the opinions of other posters.

One more time, just in case some did not see the warning.

STOP! With the Fox vs. Marvel petty fighting.

I couldn't dig up the exact quote, but I've seen people promise boycott over Trank's "drug use." Can't say I've seen the other claims personally though. It's not a common thing, it was the kneejerk comments by a select one or few when those rumors first bounced around I wanna say, but I recall it. For whatever nothing amount that's worth haha. Hey, even a guy on this very page says that he'll see the movie but buy a different movie ticket instead of contributing to FF box office. Not the same thing as a boycott, but taking steps to ensure they don't receive your $10 isn't that far off.

People have a right to boycott whatever movie they want. However, if they want to have an educated opinion of the movie once it has come out, and want to bring it here, then they will have to see the movie. If not, well then that will be taken care of when we cross that bridge. :cwink:

There's a difference between a personal boycott, and actively proselytizing for a boycott. If an individual decides not to see the movie, that's one thing. The point many of us are making is that no one on these boards has called out to the masses to not see the film. There are no picket lines.

The full trailer just played on ABC/Kimmel with MBJ as a guest. They are starting pretty early with the TV promotion.

I think it's funny that when I showed my 10 yr old nephew the first trailer he snickered at me and said and I quote "this is stupid" and he's obsessed with anything superhero related. :funny:

And my 12 year sister loved it. Doesn't mean a thing.

My point is even young fans are disgusting by how much of a bastardization this film has turned into.

He literally said all the things wrong with the film that all the other fans are saying. He was like "why did they make all these unnecessary changes?" and "Why is The Thing naked and everything so serious?"

Anyone else notice the new poster and trailer are missing the 3D stamp like the last poster?

Has it been confirmed that they cancelled the conversion yet?

That point is invalid point because your talking about one kid. That is one kid's opinion it doesn't speak for the mass majority of children.

Exactly.

@jaymes: I somehow doubt that your nephew came to those conclusions completely on his own.
