And for those who believe that fans of the MCU will swallow anything that Feige and Company give us, take a gander at some of the other MCU boards one in a while. The Mandarin Twist, Darcy, AOS Season 1, Maliketh, Edgar Wright, Ultron's dad - the MCU gets plenty of criticism.

Yup. And plenty of people whine and become enraged when they encounter that criticism. I ran into this a lot over what I felt was poor handling of Ultron. It's the same everywhere so I don't know where this "Everyone loves Marvel! They can do no wrong" nonsense comes from.

If MS had put this turkey out you bet people would be upset. The difference is Marvel wouldn't completely mismanage a project like this in the first place, mainly because they aren't ashamed of the IP but filming it anyway just to keep the license away from a rival company.

I agree, I think there were some big miss-steps with Ultron... I think the emotion-ed face, the personality, the origin, was unfortunately all wrong... I think he would have been a much more terrifying and iconic villain if they kept him emotionless... with daddy issues...

I think a lot of it comes from the backlash that criticisms get. I mean, you just have to browse the Age of Ultron Rottentomatoe thread to see it. It was also hilarious how it was wrong to criticize Whedon before Age of Ultron. There were a few people who snapped at me when I said I didn't want Whedon to direct an X-men or Star Wars film.

Is it everyone, no. But it is the majority opinion.

odd i kinda like that one. though, from what i've seen she's just "in talks" no conformation

I don't see why they couldn't at least get an asian actress if they were changing the gender. I mean it's not like asians get tons chances to be in American blockbusters but I digress.....back to FF.

Whitewashing Asians characters or even making white characters Asian will never be as media sexy as going black-white and vice versa.

that's the only part that bothers me.. i don't care for race changes... as for gender.. well... You can't get anymore androgynous than Tilda.. But i do love Tilda as an actress.. and the idea of her and Benedict really makes things interesting... They're definitely painting Strange to be a perfectly odd film. and I love that.

I have a lot of problems with a lot things Marvel has done with a lot of their films.

But I've never looked at any major Marvel character in costume and, without context, said: "Who is that supposed to be?" the way anyone who doesn't know this film would do with this:

yeesh! Those costumes look even worse in that picture.

I don't know what the heck you're talking about Willie. All three are present and accounted for - Blonde jumpsuit gal, *****ey spring-suit man, vented black dude. And the classic "Protect What Matters Most" catch phrase? Awesome!

It's like they jumped right out of my comic book!

Those have to be among the worst costumes for a comic adaptation I have ever seen.

That sums it up for me too. I haven't agreed 100% with everything that Marvel has done.....but when I looked at pics of the characters from the movies I knew who they were supposed to represent.

Those costumes look like they were designed by Louise Mingenbach. Those four lines look like something she could come up with thinking "Aha! So smart. Four lines. As in Fantastic Four. Smart and timeless!"

Honestly though, i'm so excited for this movie. It could really be anything. The trailers don't show a lot and we don't know much. Not to mention all the rumored behind the scenes drama and the total controversy the whole project is surrounded with.

Few months ago some posters here were convinced they never even shot a movie. Priceless. I hope the movie is either so terrible it will be a camp classic, or a suprising masterpiece. Movie so talked should not be bland or boring.

Jordan's outfit really looks like a speaker system, and Teller's looks like an action figure...

Goddamn they look awful and boring.

<shrug>

I like Sue and Johnny's suits. And I don't find Reed's terrible. I do like that they are not uniform.

Someone could photoshop the words DIVERGENT, HUNGER GAMES, or some other "young adult" novel and people wouldn't question it.

Nothing from this picture tells me it's Fantastic Four.

Besides the costumes, the three of them  look like they really could care less by their expressions…great marketing.:o

I like that casting as well. I actually think that what Marvel is trying to do is go with a grown up Harry Potter thing. Isn't she british? Two British people playing an American and Asian character..........I think they are thinking outside the box on this one.

Except the FF having matching uniforms is important to their characterization. It's like Wolverine without claws or Batman without ears. I'm not a hater and there are certain aspects of this film which intrigue me but I'll never get over the costumes. They're terrible in every way.

Also, I liked Age of Ultron. I have far more concerns about Ant-Man and I disliked Thor: The Dark World far more. (And no, I liked Darcy, it was Malekith and the emphasis on Earth that I disliked.)

Reed's uniform appears a little different. Were the bungee cords removed or will they be added later?

I don't mind the men's uniforms, but the invisible girls uniform looks strange with the mid-length sleeves and gloves. Either put on full length sleeves or just make it skimpy, like a catsuit with lots of cut outs. She needs that to let her powers work.

The second generation X-men (with Wolverine) didn't have matching uniforms, and Robin doesn't wear a batman uniform.

Thing has always had a different uniform. Sue has had some variation from Reed and Johnny. The colors scheme, if that is one, is the same.

I hope they are still evolving. I'd hate for those to be the final uniforms, but I don't mind them as prototype suits.

I agree about the movies, though I would have toned down Darcy.
