We live in a world where someone defending themselves against racist trolls makes that person even more disliked on the internet. Thankfully this attitude comes from only a small group of vocal "fans." Most of those same people will see it anyway, in order to complain. People who work in the comic book industry say the same all the time.

Changing the topic, I have one friend whose comic book opinion I respect is excited for the ultimate ff interpretation because he loved evil Reed and wants to see that one day.

Way to spin the martyr angle even further there. :whatever:

Yay for evil Reed. Especially since we never got to see a good interpretation of the real Reed.

How is what I'm saying not true.

I've never read the ultimate ff, but the way he described him was cool. He would start stretching his body in gross ways, like his eyes. I wouldn't mind seeing an evil version, instead of the mild jerk Reed usually is in the comic.

You're attempting to dismiss valid complaints with an offhand remark. No one's disliking him for defending himself. They're disliking him for lashing out at the wrong people and for simultaneously insulting them.

Ultimate FF was awful. But that's beating a dead horse.

1. "We couldn't have done this without our fans"?

Really?

2. Both Jordan and Teller have talked about doing justice to the characters and recognized their responsibility in portrayin iconic characters.

An assumption on your part. Not sure what its based on, since his actions say otherwise. People who "don't care" don't pen open letters about things.

please give me quotes and sources for all instances you can find, where any of the cast talks about wanting to give the comic fans what they want.. and do these characters justice. Thanks :)

LOL and you say I'm playing the martyr???

I'm sorry MBJ somehow hurt your feelings. I'm fine, though.

I didn't say you were playing the martyr. You're painting MBJ as the martyr. You don't seem to get it. But be smug if you want.

We keep coming back to square 1.

So trolls are the wrong people to lash out against?! Got it!

So if you aren't a racist or a troll but still have issues about the hole that this project has dug itself in then you must be an entitled fanboy. Got it, thanks!

So I've been hearing and yet most of the cast and creators seem to focus more on this "small group" then they do on proving this films relevance.

Oh well....

sums it up accurately

I don't want to fight about it guys. Neither side is seeing the other point of view I guess. For the record, yes racism sucks. Which is why some of us really resent getting lumped in with the racists.

I think hating a movie before it comes out because it isn't being made by the studio you want or because it hasn't followed your personal recommendations qualifies the entitled part. Not specific to only this movie but this attitude is defining this board in ways not seen in other boards.

wait.. so a movie not looking like it's meeting our expectations.. and nothing about it = what we want means we are entitled? come on now.. are you seriously saying that?

aka having an opinion different from Mad Ones = entitled fanboy. Got it.

Ant-Man isn't meeting my expectations but I don't live on it's forums and bash everything about it and revel in bad news to the point where no one is actually discussing the movie getting made.

ah but there's the kicker... are you a passionate ant-man fan ... as in prior to the movie ?

most of us are long time passionate Fantastic Four fans.. we care about the characters and how they're treated.

my guess... you're kind "eh" about ant-man... otherwise you probably would be bashing it more

"I'm passionate therefore I can say some seriously mean things about young actors performing a role they didn't even right"

Have you heard what people say about Teller? Yeesh.

I found out something new today....if a movie is being made about characters you have read and loved 50 years, but everything you see and read about it's production says they will not make it look anything like the characters you have read and loved for 50 years....then some people on here think you must go see it and love it anyway or you are just an entitled fanboy.
