The Thing really stands out in that pic and not in a good way.:o

Here's a rundown of the Denny's FF menu. The Doom Lava Cake looks really tasty and i notice that they've coined the phrase Invisible Woman Slam.:hehe:

The Thing Burger

Human Torch Skillet

Invisible Woman Slam®

Fantastic Four-Cheese Omelette

Doom Lava Cake

Fantastic Four-Fruit Smoothie

Looking at the menu, I am ordering the Invisible Woman Slam, Human Torch Skillet, The Thing Burger, I love anything with bacon and egg. Then Doom Lava Cake for Dessert.

However a Mister Fantastic inspired food is missing. Like a stretched omelette or something.

The Torch plate seems like it would be too heavy for early morning.

Shoneys was top dog but I haven't seen one in like 15 years. CB was coming up until it kept having public relation issues. So Dennys became 1 by default. IHOP and Waffle house are their own things.

In terms of middle America marketing it's fine.

You're really digging at trying to put a positive spin on this arnt you...

Toys and publishing are controlled by Disney/Marvel. Who are wisely keeping a very healthy distance from FFINO.

Oh, I know...which is very telling.

BTW, both of the earlier F4 movies are playing on AMC right now.

Mr. Fantastic Stretchy Surprise
A random brand of previously chewed gum affixed to the underside of your booth sometime in eons past. Marinated in the saliva of a previous customer and crawling with unknown bacteria and filth.

With over 1600 Denny's® locations to choose from, you might even be lucky enough to find one chewed by acclaimed actor Miles Teller himself! [*]Thing sauce not included.

And this actually makes me laugh. We are debating which roadside restaurant is better than the next, because there has to be a way to put a "positive light" on a this franchise choosing to advertise with a roadside restaurant chain, painters tape, and other products that no one can find.

Whatever happened to tie ins with toys, with special editions of comic books, with the Final Four during March Madness, with the NBA Championships, with character tv spots, with products that people actually buy...will their be a book that goes with the movie as we have had with the first 2? Where are all of those things?

It's quite telling that the few remaining supporters of this thing are putting all their effort into defending the bizarre promotional tie-ins and not the film itself. Marketing seems based on the principle of "the fewer people that are actually aware of the film, the better". The goal seems to be to keep people unawares and trick them into theaters at the last moment.

Why would anyone defend the film they haven't seen without question ? That's bizarre.

Because in some people's mind, they count this as a loss to Marvel Studios. The people I know who hate this film hate it because of the treatment it has gotten, not because of MS not having the rights. Would it be great if they did? Sure but it's not going to happen any time soon. So you have some people(not all)who see the success that MS is having and has some how turned this into a MS vs Fox thing which it isn't. No one can honestly defend this film(good or bad)because we haven't seen it. I've been on record saying I think it will be a good film but not a good F4 film which is why I won't support it. Don't pee on me and tell me it's raining outside because that will only make matters worse.

Oh come on we all know marvel/disney wants all of fox FF and X-Men films to
fail. That can't even be denyed at this point.

it's like those who hated on film form begining.

Fox is very limited how they can promate film.First off they complain fox isn't doing anything then when fox tries to promate film with their arm tied they still complain.

So people don't hate it on studio grounds. They hate it for treatment of the characters so the quality of the actual movie itself to those characters is of no consequences.

So if it's a good movie with bad marketing. They hate it.
If it's a bad movie with bad marketing. Good. Cause they hate it.

While I get it to one degree. Organic webbing Peter didn't seem off from the comic book Peter I read. Or at least not because of the organic webbing.

Sweet ghost of Kirby, did some idiot really name an official tie-in the Invisible Woman Slam?! Forgive me, but the jokes must be made...

What do you get when Reed Richards and Chris Brown combine? The Invisible Woman Slam!

What do you call raunchy fan art of the Fantastic Four? The Invisible Woman Slam!

What bull**** do you come up with when you want to get fired from Denny's and collect that sweet, sweet unemployment check? The Invisible Woman Slam!

Actually while merchandise they can do, advertising and product placement promotion they CAN do and arnt limited with.. and ARN'T doing a very good job at.

Its not a simple "damned if you do damned if you dont" situation like you want it to be

Thank goodness nothing else on that menu sounds wrong in any way whatsoever. Nothing wrong with Thing sauce. Nope. No sir. In fact, Thing sauce is perfectly normal. Nothing to be embarrassed about there. I saw a video in Health class on the subject.

Why is that Denny's marketing campaign generating such LOL-centric responses?

I don't see anything objectionable or negatively silly about it, but to each their own.

If you don't understand why "Invisible Woman Slam" or "Thing Sauce" is funny, there's probably no explaining it.

When I went to my son's 5th grade parent-teacher conference, the teacher said: "I like having your son in class. His sense of humor isn't that of a typical 5th grader." To which my wife responded: "That's funny because his father's sense of humor is exactly that of a typical 5th grader."

Marketing people need to keep in mind that there are a lot of people out there with the sense of humor of 5th graders before creating things like "Invisible Woman Slam" and "Thing Sauce".

Of the 100 "Cast Standing Around Looking Serious" photos we've seen, I think this one works best (though the photoshop is still a little distracting). They should have used this one and thrown all the others away.

I think this is the best look we've had so far at what I suspect are the Thing's toeless feet (based on the concept drawing).

Just imagine people at Denny's asking the waiter "can I get extra thing sauce" :whatever:

How I wish Marvel would hire the Fant4stic marketing team for their big November film next year. I'd really like some Strange at Denny's. I know a few people who'd appreciate a Wong Slam.
