Fant4stic Fantastic Four Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 5

There are still people whom deny the reshoots.

A week before the movie came out, there was someone arguing that Trank wasn't fired from either SW or FF and that the rumors were all unsubstantiated.

Yeah, for a little while certain people kept claiming we (the actual Fantastic Four fans) were all Disney employees over on the X-boards (shocker, I know). I used a smartalec sig about being Walt's frozen head for awhile after that. Worst of all? One of those people (won't name them, figure it out yourself, it's super easy) said at one point that they wish they worked for Fox, this person constantly hyped up Fox films that weren't even Marvel related, and said Fox should plant people in their Comic-Con audience.

The "positive" crew that blindly supports this film has been insufferable. It's been wonderful watching this whole thing explode in the faces of Fox, Trank, and the blind loyalists.

I know! I know! But I won't say his name! I was here when he said it!! :woot::db:

I've never seen any other film draw as much blind loyalty. One poster in particular, after the picture of trash bag Doom leaked, made the claim that what we saw in that first glimpse was only his "first costume" and that he'd have more looks by the end of the movie. He also told people to not make any judgements until we actually see the film, but in the same breathe he claimed that Domashev would be better than every other MCU villain.
Foxholm syndrome is a real thing.

One guess where all the supporters of this film went? The X-forums.

The Complex is real...

There are still people whom deny the reshoots.

Howwwwwwwww....?

Why? How? I thought the reshoots had been confirmed by the studio, the actors, producers... Everyone short of Comic Book Jesus himself????

Foxholm syndrome is a real thing.

He now claims he was right---it was his "first" costume!
Of course it was his final costume as well.
These delusional people are now fantasizing about how in the sequel Domashev will get his iron armor.

They don't even get how unfair it would be to let Fox get a chance to "fix" this disgrace.

This movie was a spit in the face to every real FF fan and now these losers want to give ANOTHER chance to this studio.

They had 8 years from the last one to this disgrace and now after giving us this turdkey--some dementos think they've earned another chance?

These crackpots thought Ted Bundy needed a stern warning not the death penalty.

One of this film's supporters argued, after the film had released, that you couldn't tell the difference between Mara's natural hair and the reshoot wig.

Nothing says sequel hook quite like getting disintegrated!

But to fair, that gentleman is legally blind.
Many in the visually impaired comunity said the wig was not noticable nor were any subpar FX.

On the other hand many hearing impaired lip readers wanted to know who the "Von Doom" from the credits was, because they lip read "Domashev" being said during the movie.

Poor Tobey Kebbel was pushing the theory that the Doom that was destroyed was a Doombot---as late as the weekend the movie opened.

Yes a Doombot that makes peoples heads explode.

Only one thing can make all of this sweeter....hopefully we will hear something before the end of the year.

Wait, they actually killed off Victor Von Doom?!!! My brain hurts so much right now.

"We here at Fox made zero effort for a comic accurate Dr Doom in 3 movies---therefore it is clear that a comic accurate Doom is not feasible."
Blindly loyal Fox fan--" That makes perfect sense, it shouldn't be attempted."

I haven't seen the film, but I've read that he was disintegrated from dozens of reliable sources.

Pre-release there were reports that Doom would seemingly die in the climax only to be revealed alive in a stinger, but that didn't happen.

It was shot but Kebbel's wig didn't match and they were dead set against any continuity errors getting in the movie

"Foxholm syndrone"---an insidious mental condition where the subject becomes convinced that a movie project is of high quality, despite innumerable indications otherwise.
In severe cases even after the movie they are blindly obsessed with opens--and is indiputably terrible--(a critical and financial failure)---the afflicted proclaim the movie is "good" or has been slandered or that a superior version was not released--usually for nefarious reasons.
Some untreated individuals wander the streets and access the internet.
They are usually unkept--sometimes wearing garbage bags and saying "I'm Dr Doom".
Others appear normal but generally after talking to someone, they will begin talking about things like...the "Jar-Jar Binks" spin off movie,
Hitman 47-2, Walter Mitty: Mo Mitty, Percy Jackson 3: Rise of Hades, Exodus II: Wrath of Pharoh, Abe Lincoln: Zombie Stomper, Polergeist Apt 666 and in the advanced stages---"Fantastic Four 2".
If you encounter these victims, try to get them to a mental health provider.
Sometimes this may be accomplished by saying you know of a place where they are going to announce plans for the FF "sequel".
Those afflicted should not be mocked, but should treated with compassion.

Actually that's pretty accurate.

I think some people are just contrarians. They want to get on the internet and argue and they don't care what it's about. They don't care, for instance, if Apocalypse's makeup looks nothing like the comic book version, they'll defend it to the death, and possibly even claim it is better than in the comics. They'll do this mostly because they relish going against the popular opinion...which is that the makeup is poor and looks almost nothing like the comics. Then again, some of them will actually get upset at all the "fox bashing" which leads me to believe that they actually are fox employees...or they own stock or something.

The fun thing is,if you go to the Apocalypse boards,Every now and then they start talking trash about MCU,because apparently they can't just talk about the thread's darn movie. Last day one of Fox loyalists said Civil War was going to be CWINO,just like Daredevil was going to be DDINO because of his black costume. It's all Real.

Welcome brothers and sisters. This thread is for all things related to our so-called persecution complex. This is the place to post interviews, snippets, quotes, pics, etc that further underscore the marginalization of the X-Franchise. In this thread, you can feel safe to discuss how you feel about the way the X-Men and X-Fans are being treated without persecution. This is a place of love and understanding.

These people are so pissed that The Avengers-who were initially more popular than the X-Men, but were later passed for 20 years(1980s-2000) only to be overtaken by the Avengers again. They think Marvel doesn't want "their most popular characters to thrive" even though maybe two mutants have ever held a solo series for a 100+ issues.

Despite publishing 5 X-books at a time, despite putting Brian Michael Bendis on the X titles, they are persecuted-just like their X-heroes.

The Fantastic Four were lumped in, but after this bomb, they've retreated back because they never cared about this IP, just like Fox.

It's life imitating art at it's finest.

an excerpt from the google doc:

"I think the X-Men are analogous to any number of different things. Which is one of the beauties of the concept—all kinds of different people can find something to relate to in their struggle." - Including being analogous to X-Men fans who find themselves disenfranchised since Marvel put themselves in a situation where they don't get 100% of the profits from their most popular characters? In this case, Marvel would be the government persecuting those fans, who would be mutants themselves…’
