Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

God. Aside from the 2nd movie we’ve watched Vin Diesel go from 32 to 52 in a twenty years span

That’s crazy

Hobbs & Shawis technically the 9th film just like Tokyo Drift is counted as #3.

I wish Tokyo Drift would have been the 2nd Fast and Furious movie so that they can call it 2kyo Drift

Question for y’all. When did you hop onboard this series? Has anyone stuck with this thing since the beginning in 2001? Did some of you join late?

Since day one. Saw all but two of the films at the theatre. Sadly I didn't get to enjoy Tokyo Drift at the movies even though I wanted to. A friend at the time didn't want to go see it cause it wasn't his "thing". The bastard tells me a few months later once it was out on DVD that this was his favourite so far. I wanted to smack him so badly when he said that. The other one I missed at the movies was Fate of the Furious. It's still to this day the only movie in the franchise that I've only watched once.

Vin Diesel: Man I do love that truck flip scene in TDK...

Why is everyone assuming the guy getting car slapped is Dom? If you look at the second gif from the same sequence, Dom is driving his muscle car. You can see him on our right side of the frame. Han and Him are squeezing the truck in to make it flip.

Might as well end the Fast franchise and just continue it but in spin offs like what they are doing with Hobbs and Shaw

Wait... what does John Krasinski have to do with the Fantastic Four?

Anyway, this movie looks absolutely bonkers, which is what we all wanted it to be. I have my doubts as to whether John Cena can play a compelling antagonist, but this is Fast & Furious after all. One-note bad guys are kinda par for the course.

Han coming back is interesting (and CSI New Orleans guy too... blink and you'll miss him) and it makes be wonder where this series will go next, because we all know this isn't the last ride. If we're bringing back dead people and long lost brothers then we might as well try and snag a few characters from other films and franchises. Here are my suggestions:

Ryan Gosling as the Driver from Drive. I know there's no shortage of strong silent types in this series but this character was so awesome in this movie and I'd love to see what he could do on the team. He could be a getaway driver and rival to Dom that the bad guys hire, and then at the end of the movie, he switches sides and joins the Fast crew.

Nicolas Cage as Memphis Raines from Gone in 60 Seconds. I feel like this move was The Fast & the Furious before there was a Fast & the Furious. Cage would fit in so well with this series because... well, he's Nicolas Cage and he's the only thing in Hollywood that's as bats*** crazy as this franchise has become.

Dwayne Johnson as the Driver/James Cullen from Faster. Luke Hobbs' wayward, long lost twin brother (not to be confused with his 24 other brothers we met in Hobbs & Shaw), is being pursued by police after getting revenge on the men who killed his brother (again, not any of Hobbs' other brothers that we've met, but the one who died in Faster). Hobbs makes it his mission to bring him in.

Jason Statham as Frank Martin from The Transporter franchise. Deckard Shaw's long lost brother (no, not Luke Evans, the other one) shows up to school the team on weight restrictions for getaway driving after Dom and the team unsuccessfully attempt to transport a nuclear missile on top of a Toyota Supra. If the rights to using Frank are unavailable, then perhaps we could import Jason Statham from Crank, Jason Statham from The Italian Job, or Jason Statham from The Mechanic.

Calling it now Fast 10 will be them racing aliens in space :funny:

We can only hope. I also like Double Toasted's idea of involving the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. The Fast crew are much better protagonists than Chris Pratt's and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters. :funny:

Do you think the next movie will be called FasTen?

I wonder if there is a change of government in America later this year if the villains would change too. Less government stooges/ex military goons. More ????

I hate you... For coming up with this before me.

Also... This movie needs to end with Dom dying by being hit in the skull while walking down the street by a VCR/DVD combo player someone throws out of a window.

:funny:

That's so perfect.

The amount of X is eXcessive.

Another title I have in mind is, FasTen (Your Seatbelt).

I wonder if they are really going to release it next year.
Not me coming up with a great title, in the previous two pages and witnessed somebody else get a credit for it!

Universal Pictures, I have the date/timestamp of the post, if you decided to go with that title! X

As I have said before Fast 7 was the perfect ending to the series. I say this because when Vin wanted nothing to do with this series it was Paul who kept it alive. He came back for the second was trying to hard to bring back the old cast for another movie. So when he died IMO they should've ended the series and just do stand alone movies.

That's like saying Rogue One is part of the main Star Wars saga. It's under the same franchise umbrella, but Hobbs and Shaw is its own thing. It doesn't count as the 9th F&F movie.

Well Tokyo Drift didn't even have any of the ogs in the movie in a lead role but it is counted as the 3rd. Imo, Tokyo Drift is a spin-off just like Hobbs/Shaw. And the lead characters of the latter, had bigger roles/impact in the numbered movies feat. Vin/Paul compare to the lead stars of Tokyo Drift. So imo, if Tokyo Drift is being grouped with the numbered movies then Hobbes/Shaw should too.

Tokyo Drift is the Beneath the Planet of the Apes of the Fast & Furious franchise. Bland new character no one cares about shows up, has some action sequences and whatnot, and then in the last 5 minutes the hero from the first movie shows up for a paycheck. But at least the Apes film had the good sense to kill off its dull protagonist at the end, whereas Tokyo Drift stupidly left Sean Boswell alive, meaning that he would inevitably show up again somewhere down the road, much to the annoyance of everyone on earth.

Expected to be the final film in the Fast saga, so it’ll obviously be called:

Fast & Furious: The Rise of Paul Walker

I’ll get my coat
No joke. If they resurrect Walker through CGI, i will not watch that s***. Im hoping they have at least that much restraint

Eh, leave it to Vin Diesel to milk it any which way he can.

Well, I mean, they technically had to CGI him for certain scenes in 7.
