It's that time!

What was your favourite moment or scene in DOFP?

For me it was the opening in New York and the bang of the X-Men theme. At that moment I knew that DOFP was the return of the franchise we love so much, and a big winner right off the bat. That theme is just iconic, and the opening titles? Perfection

Gahhh too hard to pick

I'll go with Wolvy waking up to that song the second time.

(or "whippp...lashhhhh")

Why isn't this thread at 5 pages. I was looking forward to reading everyone's faves.

Anyway, my favorite was just after Erik and Charles argue on the plane.

They settle down and begin to play chess. They rib each other with Magneto pointing out how much better he is.

Fassbender then does this ice stare for a few seconds before the camera pulls away.

Not only was it spot on foreshadowing, it also set the tone for the rest of the movie.

This, I've said ten thousand times already, and I'll say it again, the last minute shrapnel metal door, I loved that scene so much.

Magneto rallying the Sentinels to his side as he floats with the stadium

Young Charles talking to old Charles :) Love that kind of stuff.

Right now it's between Old and Young Charles conversation and the Plane scene. If I had to pick I'd go for the plane scene but I'd have to watch it again to make a more informed decision.

Magneto's sentinel/stadium coup d'etat. So cool.

Young/Old Xavier's scene.

Xavier and Magneto handshake.

I loved the entire sequence in Paris. It starts off well with Mystique owning random guards but it gets incredible once Erik, Charles, Hank and Logan arrive. Once Magneto picks up the gun to shoot Mystique it all hits the fan and it's so intense.

I loved the Paris scene with the 70's Super 8 4:3 camera inclusions as it made it feel more realistic and gave the film a style and when Erik is dragging mystique along the ground with the bullet in her leg then ripping it out. Ouch!

I also liked the flashbacks to previous films with Logan seeing young Stryker and having flashbacks to Weapon X and Brian Cox 'I just saw someone who will bring me a lot of pain someday'.

As well as young Charles seeing Logan kill Jean 'You poor man, I don't want your suffering, I don't want your future!'

So many but this one takes the cake...

The altered , good future with Scott/Jean/etc

Not so much in the movie but the whole time when he can't use his powers due to the serum and is able to walk reminded me of this.

Wow, too many to choose, now this may change after more than 1 viewing, but my best scene as of now has to be young Charles reading Logans mind and seeing all the pain he has gone through, the line from Charles and the delivery after were just perfect.

I like when Stryker and Trask discuss why they fight mutants.

Trask shows he's not a cut and dry villain with a philosophical justification for oppressing mutants without actively hating them.

He still sounds like a madman but it adds complexity to him.

The scene during the opening where the young white haired mutant finds the metallic X-men emblem before you see the reflection of a sentinel flame attack in his eye was perfectly framed.

It felt like it came straight from the pages of a comic book.

The future scenes watching all your favorite mutants get slaughtered was really, really depressing but it added alot of gravity and suspense to the 1970's scenes.

While it wasn't a "favorite' moment for me, I did enjoy seeing on how they actually showed that having Adamantium claws really makes a difference for how effective Wolverine can be within a fight as his bone claws really didn't do him any favors in his fight against the past sentinels.

-Storm's death scene
-Mini reunion of the OT cast at the beginning
-Animated sequence with X2 theme/the X door
-"Everything that happens now is in your hands", that whole sequence
-Moscow action sequence
-The altered future, best scene ever!
-Quicksilver

-Everyone's death( but Storm's and Blink's in particular)
-Quicksilver
-Altered Future
-Moscow sequence
-Magneto helping out in the future
- Very last scene when the sentinels about to wipe out Charles/Kitty

Honorable mention:
-Mystique butchering Vietnamese

The future deaths didn't really affect me that much as I knew it'd get fixed up in the end, it wasn't permanent.

The whole movie was consistently full of memorable scenes and I think you could justify any part of the movie as you're favourite, never a moment that was poorly executed or dull.

Iceman slide, full iceform and freezing of Sentinel, just a thing of beauty. But to be honest theres too many to list.
