i know it's been said before but fassbender and mcavoy are brilliant in these roles. mcavoy particularly in this film was amazing. the argument on the plane between xavier and magneto was a real highlight for me. reminds me of seeing the first x-men movie in high school and loving that first encounter between them outside the congressional meeting on mutant registration. and like a lot of people, i was very pleasantly surprised at how much i liked evan peters as quicksilver and the entire sequence at the pentagon

i also really liked the imagery of when magneto inserted a bunch of metal bars into wolverine and threw him into the river. it was very reminiscent of when magneto rips the adamantium from his bones in the fatal attractions story line in the comics

Among other things, Quicksilver's slow motion sequence was simultaneously funny and thrilling.

I loved the use of the slow-motions of this film like

-For Quicksilver
-Magneto with the gun and the bullet
-Storm's death scene

There's just something elegant and stylish about it.

- Intro in the future with Stewart narrating

- Erik and Charles' conversations on the plane

- Mystique seducing the man in the bar, and the whole party scene before that

Another under-appreciated moment is when Quicksilver asks Magneto what he did. The way he look at the guard is mouths "wow" is just amazing

the start of the film when the old cast come out in their future outfits. inside i was going f..k yeah!

the end of the film when Wolverine wakes up and we see old favourites. Sentimentality

Other than that Quicksilver was just neat. They're getting better at doing superspeed in movies.

^^ The editing in that scene is so powerful, I get chills from how Ottman edited the future and past with the BGM. In an instant, pandemonium breaks out and Ottman times those horns coming at the perfect time, I want to see it over and over again. It was superb how the past and future flowed in that tiny short sequence.

The Quicksilver scene was my absolute favorite, but I also loved the part where Mystique jumped out the window in Paris. The crowds screaming while Mystique limped away felt so raw and real. I can imagine a photograph of her lying on the ground would've been an iconic image from the time.

I loved when Eric levitated down into the plaza. He looked so godly with his hands out like that.

My favorite moment had to be the airplane scene. Charles' and Eric's argument was incredible. So much raw emotion.

Visually: Eric levitating down into the newly displaced RFK stadium and the Sentinels hovering with him.

Dialogue: Eric getting dead serious on the plane during his verbal spat with Charles. He killed that scene.

Yea I forgot about that one. I remember thinking that's exactly how people would react to seeing a blue, scaly mutant with yellow eyes falling out of a building and getting up. Almost reminded me of the people screaming when they showed the alien walking for the first time in the Signs.

That seemed to even be new to Wolverine, since he yelled "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" when he saw Beast during that scene.

Some great emotional moments:

""I'll...do my best?" - "Your best is enough. Trust me."

Iceman's second death and Kitty's reaction when the sentinels are walking down the hall. Great music and acting on Page's part. Very bittersweet moment.

Logan's "yeah" when Charles says they have catching up to do. It looks and sounds like he's on the verge of shedding tears of joy and relief.

I loved that moment. It was as if all the pain he had suffered was immaterial in that moment, because what he had done had saved everyone

The moment when you can see the Sentinel's face beams reflections in Kitty's eyes. Coupled with the music, wow.
