I'm responding to myself on this because it never ceases to amaze me. I'm reading one of my local news sites posting of this story and reading the comments, the logic (or lack there-of) of Trump supporters is just insane. "This is an erosion of privacy... they shouldn't be able to do this without a warrant" or "Why does he have to release his tax returns? I couldn't care less - doesn't congress have anything better to do!" but my absolute favorite that I saw, and I'll direct quote this one:

The Democrats better remeber their candidate for the next election will also have to release their returns,

It's like... dude... every president since, what, Nixon? regardless of party has voluntarily released their tax returns UNTIL Trump. I mean, it's just....
